I created a Group, then I invited a user to join the group but I am impatient so I went to the backend and tried to add that same member to the group. When I clicked in Insert, it does nothing. If I remember it right, I can do this before. The group is invite only.

It is normal behavior actually as you already invited that users and you cannot add/invite him twice on same groups as those invitation already stored on the database.

Also, maybe the button label should say Add instead of insert?

Can you apply attached file at this path .../administrator/components/com_easysocial/themes/default/groups/dialogs/browse.addusers.php and see how it goes.

This changes will be included on our next release version.

As I suspected, thanks for confirming. Just a suggestion, I'm not creating a feature request for this to make a better UI, maybe a prompt should be created telling the user that "the user being added has already been invited to join the group." Doing nothing after an action feels like there's a bug.

Better yet, provide an override option that would ask the user "Do you want to override the invite and manually add the user instead?" Then it will send a notification email to the user that he/she has been added to the group by this user. Well, that will result to adding more code but the workflow makes a lot of sense and UI speaking, it does sounds friendly compare to the current which does nothing.
