Unfortunately, it is a mandatory field as Joomla is required you to enter a user email address when you add a new user account on the site.

I have a lot of blogs and a lot of authors so I do not want to have to add each author as a user on the site.

Will this be changed in EasyBlogs at any time to allow us to add author (and then search for blogs by author etc) without having to set them up as a user?

I agree with Gemma.

It would be nice to have the option to do both, add the Authors as users if you wish or not, this will make things less restrictive.

Currently, we only have an option to allow the author to add their fake name from the composer, you can check my attached screenshot below.

So the author name will not show on the frontend blog listing page.
