Hi

I'm trying to setup Content ACL, to test it out initially I set the whole blog to be inaccessible unless you subscribe a specific plan (out of several).

However... it's still public. I can get to the content without even a login.

I don't see an error, the content just shows up as normal.
Hello Paulo,

I have done some change in content acl app code to achive your scenario.
Please find attached file and replace it with file located at
root/plugins/payplans/contentacl/contentacl/app/contentaclcontentacl.php/

Try this solution and let me know if you have any issue.

Hello Paualo,

Do you want to restrict whole page or just some specific content you want to hide from user.
Please share the link for which you have applied this restriction.

Hello Manisha,

I want' to restrict the content, so when someone tries to access the article (category) it will see a message that they need to subscribe plan A.

Hi Manisha,

I see now that that link was added at the end of the article, whoch makes it moot. How to make the article ONLY assessible to subscribers. As in showing the message at the begining instead of the end?

Hello,

In case of content acl app, Plan subscription link will be added after intro text of article.
You requirement can be fulfilled by some customizations.

Let me know you want to move this subscribe link before article introtext or when user try to access the link redirect them to plan page directly.

Hello Manisha,

I think the best user experience would be to when they click on a link that directs them to an article with limited access, that they would be greeted with a message explaining they need to subscribe to Plan "x" followed by the link to subscribe said plan.

Is that possble?

Regards

Hello,

I checked again and found that you have not added the read more tag, that's why full article shown to user and subscribe plan link shown at the end of the article. I have edited one article to add read more tag , so in frontend only content shown before read more tag. See attached screen shot.

Let me know if it will resolve your issue.

Hello,

Yes I noticed that after you mentioned that it would only show up after the intro text.
But can we make it to appear when a user accesses the link instead?

I don't want the users to read anything at all.

Hello Paulo,

if you apply read more tag on starting of content , so user will not able to read whole content. In this way content acl app is working.
If you want to to redirect user on plan page with message which plan need to be subscribe, it will require customization in app.

If you want to customize this app then you can send your request to marketing@stackideas.com

Hello Manisha,

That works!

Better yet would be to not even show the article title, tags, etc. Just show the message. If you guys decide to extend this app, please make the following options available on future versions;

Show Message;
- After Read more
- Overwrite Article (Show Just Message)
- Replace article body with Message

I think it it would be handy for a lot of people.

Thank you!
