Hello people from Stackideas,

We installed the latest version of Easyblog 5 and as we expected from the get-go we are experiencing some weird issues and bugs. For instance this one:

We have a couple of users who are under the usergroup MANAGER
For the manager group we have changed a lot things so they can ONLY edit their own blog messages and post them on the website.

But when we tried logging in to the backend on their account they could still do everything from changing settings to changing the entire theme.

We think this is a bug because we previously didnt have any errors with this with Easyblog 3

Kind regards,

Hey Christian,

Do you mean that you restrict "manager" user group only have permission to edit their own blog post and post them on the website from frontend?

If you are referring to backend section, you need to configure correctly the permission from your backend > system > global configuration > permission tab > check my screenshot below.

Hey,

We already did all the steps. We made sure that the ACL was correctly done on both the Joomla ACL and the EASYBLOG ACL

Yet somehow it just isnt working? Our customers can still see everything!

Could there be a way you guys could see whats going on in our backend?

Kind regards,

Hey Christian,

Hm, yeah this looks like it's a bug here. Although they can't change themes, they are able to view those items. They shouldn't be able to. Will add this fix into the next release

Hey Christian,

We're still running some tests internally and as soon as we find that it is stable, we'll release it. I am hoping that we can push something out today
