Achieved New Recruit Badge being duplicated with 2 stream entries

Just reporting that recently I'm seeing my new users are getting 2 instances of the 'achieved the badge new recruit' on their activity stream...

If it helps troubleshoot, I always activate my new users via the link in the email I receive as SuperAdmin.

Examples of the double stream entry:
mysite.com /myprofile/6256
mysite.com /myprofile/6257
