Hello guys,

User activation is required to be able to register on my site. I noticed that a user registered and entered the site, gaining a newbie badge, while without activating his account. How is it possible?

Best regards,

Zafer
Hi Zafer,

Perhaps they have activated their account through email activation and that's why they are able to access your easysocial site. However this is just my logic thinking and there might be some hidden issue there. However I just tried to replicate this locally but it seems like everything is working correctly as it should be. Perhaps you can pass me your joomla backend and FTP access so we can test it directly on your site?

Hi Ezrul,

I have encountered second case. No activation, but somehow user is published and can log in the site.

There is only email activation to be able to log in in my setting. Is there any other way to activate which ES doesnt identify?

I have added site details. Please have a look at it.

Best regards,

Zafer

Hi Zafer,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply.

I just tried to register on your site and browse the stream using your super user account right after the user has registered but it seems like I'm not seeing any stream "user has gained a newbie badge" for that user.

I also notice that the correct behavior when user are registered on your site it will be like the following screenshot here, http://screencast.com/t/8fWIsMbMXU while for user "xxx" the user has already enabled but on pending activation. Not exactly sure how to reproduce the issue here .

Hi Ezrul,

I met this issue only with 2-3 users. Maybe they know a kind of hack. Maybe it is because they activate via mobile or something? Maybe they activate and then change their emails? This is just interesting.

Thanks and best regards,

Zafer

Hi Zafer,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it weekends for all of us here.

It's hard to tell as we are not able to replicate the issue in both our local and your site. We will keep an eye of this and kindly get back to us once similar issue is coming back on your site.
