Hi,

By default settings, the accepted answer is displayed at top of the thread.
How can we keep the ordering potion of accepted answer?

Sorry for my poor English!
Hello Masanori,

Hm, to achieve this, it's pretty tricky and you can't just edit the theme file. You need to edit the core files to change the behavior because right now, answers are treated separately than replies

Hello Masanori,

You would probably need to customize the theme files to re-order the items. Take a look at the file /components/com_easydiscuss/themes/simplistic/post.php

Mark,

Thank you.
Let me make sure.
By default, the reply that marked as accepted answer is displayed at the top of replies(just below of question / topic) right?
If I want to display accepted answer at the ordering of time series, I should hack /components/com_easydiscuss/themes/simplistic/post.php. right?

Hello Masanori,

Hm, sorry but not sure if I understand you here. What do you mean by "ordering of time series"?

Mark,

Yeah, it is difficult to me to explain this in English, sorry.
Please see attachment.
In this case reply 4 jumps up to top of replies after it marked as accepted answer.
I want to keep reply 4 stay normal position even if it marked as accepted answer.

Mark,

Thank you.
I appreciate it if you could consider about this issue in the future.
Sometimes it is difficult to see the flow of the discussion when we see the accepted answer on the top.

Thanks for the heads up on this Masanori but the idea to split the answer from the replies is so that viewers will get a better glimpse of the discussion

It does screw up the flow of a discussion thread if the Accepted Answer is placed at the top as the answer can come from any part of the thread and causes confusion as well as unnecessary scrolling back to the top and down again to follow the content of conversation correctly.

Suggestion

Do NOT move the Accepted Answer to the top of the thread, highlight it as you do now but keep it in the same position and place a COPY of the accepted answer at the top of the thread with an indication that this is the accepted answer.

The flow of the thread is not disrupted for anyone wishing to read through it and the accepted answer is available at the top for anyone who is only interested in the answer to the question without reading the thread.

Just a thought.............

Mark,

Will we have the option to keep the accepted answer in the flow of discussion in the future version of EasyDiscuss?
I strongly agree with Richard !

Hello Masanori,

We are still considering if this actually makes sense to be implemented in EasyDiscuss but we'll definitely consider this

Mark,

Thank you for the consideration.
Honestly, place the best answer at the top of discussion is good as noted for quick view.
But I strongly hope to have the another option to keep the best answer stay in its position.
If the accepted answer includes the words like "it" or "as mentioned above", then it is hard to understand if it is placed at the top.

It is an old thread but as a perfect example of how it should be done (ref the 'copy of answer at top of thread) take a look at the new JReviews forum, it works extremely well (and looks good too).
