Hi there!
I notice that I have a lot - unfortunately almost exclusively - registrations from people with weird names and countries who are not even supposed to speak the language and never post any questions. Its mostly from Poland and Rumania and so on. Some time ago, when I was running easyblog on the old version of this website, I noticed that some people abused the blog to communicate with each other. Do you have security issues? What is this about those unrelated registrations?
To the best of my knowledge, my systems are up to date. I've also attached a screenshot.

Thanks for your advice,
Chantal
Actually Easydiscuss and Easyblog do not render any registration form on the site, all the registration is actually go through Joomla registration form.

Is it you do not like user register on your site? If yes, you can turn off that registration from backend, or you can set "New User account Activation" to administrator, so when the user register on your site, it need your site administrator approval then they only can login on your site.

Oh yes, I'm so sorry, I forget over and over again that this login thing is provided by joomla and not you. However, my joomla version is up to date - any idea what this people try to achieve by registering on my site?

Yes, you are right, administrator approval could be a solution to this. But I'm a bit impatient myself and sometimes this type of question is really urgent and I'm afraid my reaction time would be too long...
However, I will think about it. Thank you very much.

I also not really sure why, but based on what i see, it seems like those user is go through this registration link from the Easydiscuss login dropdown, you can check my attached screenshot below.

Perhaps we can help you disable that link if you do not want user to register on your site?

Well, yes, but how can they post a question and receive notification of an answer if they are not registered? I guess this wouldn't work, would it?

Thank you anyways!

Yes, they won't receive any email unless they subscribe on your forum page.

Actually there no anyway to determine whether this new register user is it will abuse the blog or forum to communicate with each other, if you allow user to register on your site.

Unless you can consult with your webhosting provider and see whether can block those user IP address which trying to access your website from Poland and Rumania country?
