Hi,

I've installed EasyBlog 5 Alpha version and I tried to remove "Powered by EasyBlog for Joomla!" sentence in the blog but I didn't succeed. Can you help me?
At least you can get it installed
I'm stuck at initializing site files for an hour. (second try) lulz

But, I am guessing your problem is due to it being an Alpha and not stable, so that it cannot be given away to non subscribers via email and such, without an Ad / Link Back... Just a guess, but that is the case with most Alpha/Beta series.

Hi Hassan,

Thanks for your inquiry.
You can go to this file, /components/com_easyblog/themes/wireframe/structure/default.php and remove it there.

Hi EveryWishEveryStar,

Yup that is true. EasyBlog5 is not very stable yet and it is in a testing phases. I am sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Have a nice day.

Hi,
can I install Easy Blog 5 over Easy Blog 3.9? Or I need to remove Easy Blog 3.9 before?

Hi Tanya,

No you can't. It will broke your existing Easyblog 3.9. Currently EB5Alpha1 is not able to handle legacy post data yet.

Please advise.

Might be some confusion here.... in the latest news that went out to the mailing list, it said something about making sure you were on EB 3.9 before you upgraded.... that left me thinking too that the upgrade scripts were ready for testing. So if that's not the case, might need to do an update on that. I didn't keep the mailing so I can't check.... just going from memory.

Hi Andy,

Thanks for your reply. I am sorry for the misunderstanding and miscommunication here.
What I meant in my previous reply was that EasyBlog5Alpha1 is still in testing phase and if you install it on 3.9, it might broke your live site.

However, you can install EasyBlog5Alpha1 on EasyBlog3.9 on your testing site only. We will not be responsible if your live site break because of the EasyBlog5Alpha1.

Hope this clear the confusion.

I have the following version on my test site:
Software Is Up To Date
Installed Version: 5.0.1
Latest Version: 4.0

I suspect that I do not actually have the latest version of the Alpha. Where do I go to download it. I did not find any way to update it via the EasyBlog5 backend or with the Joomla Extensions update. so, I must be missing the place to go. :-)
