Hi,

I found something important. 3-4 weeks ago i realised that i couldnt see none of my story updates. (I mean after posted something, i couldnt see them on dashboard and my profil page) But I could see them on my Activity logs. So I tougth that something wrong with my sql entry or something. And I complately removed easysocial (with sql entry) and reinstalled it. And my problem was solved. But today i had the same problem again. I learned that problem is not about any tecnical or sql problem. The problem is about misconfiguration.

So please post something and after posting go to dahsboard and find your latest post. And then click on "Hide all similar items" after doing this, please post a new update. And You cant not see you latest post till you take your action (Hide all similar items) back. Hide all similar items must hide our previous updates, but this option doesnt work properly and hides our future updates also.
Hello,

The "Hide similar activity" behavior is to hide all updates from particular app. Hence, it also hides future stream updates because by hiding, you are telling the system that you do not want to see these stream types. Am I missing anything here?

Yes you are missing something. For example i hided a story update one of person. After this behavior i wont see any story update from any person and mine . This is not normal. This option must hide only invidual, like facebook. I imagine "our user will say i cant see any srteam aktivities on my stream, please help me..." Story updates a core app of easysocial. And it shouldnt be hided complately.

For exmale; i wan to hide Johns' stream updates. When i hide Johns' updates All updates comes from story app will be hided. And i wont see any update from any person. So it must be;

Hide similar activities from John (not complately from app). Our user will have many problem because of this.

Hello,

Hm, I think you may have misunderstood this feature or perhaps the translation of it should not be "Hiding from another user". What it basically means is that it will hide all stream from the specific app. In your case it is the "story" app. That is why your updates are also hidden

I will change the translation for this to avoid confusions. But your idea is good too, I think we should have the ability to hide from specific user too

" Hm, I think you may have misunderstood this feature or perhaps the translation of it should not be "Hiding from another user"

Ahah i am not a child You will learn what i say after seeing my web site. I just wonder about my future users. They will use hide options and i will have a serious support problem.

I think you should change system of hiding. Because easysocial is not facebook. All apps on easysocial are required and controlled by site admins. If someone uses hiding option by clicking "Hide all similar activities" They wont see any update from related app anymore. Because "Hide all similar activities" options complately hides apps.

I just tested it on my web site. I posted a status update. And then i just click on "hide all similar... ". after that i posted another status update. But i couldnt see it. Because i hided all updates comes from story app by clicking hide all... Story updates cant be hided complately and ofcourse other apps.

So you should change it to Hide all smililar items comes from a spesific user option. For example photos app. if i hide all items i wont see any update from any users about theirs photos. Because all updates comes from photo app will be hided. But if i hide all similar updates from John ( for photo app) . I wont see any Johns' photos updates not all users. And currently " Hide similar activity" option complately hides App activities. That is a serious problem for us!

Noted, and added this as a feature queue in http://stackideas.com/roadmap/easysocial I still think Hide all stream from "app" should be allowed but perhaps it should be configurable?
