500 error on setting saving in backend

Hi,

I have installed easy_discuss on a test server... I am getting 500 errors when I go to lets say settings->Layout->general and click on SAVE...

In the backend I see

PHP Catchable fatal error: Argument 2 passed to Joomla\\Registry\\AbstractRegistryFormat::getInstance() must be of the type array, string given, called in /var/www/html/libraries/vendor/joomla/registry/src/Registry.php on line 649 and defined in /var/www/html/libraries/vendor/joomla/registry/src/AbstractRegistryFormat.php on line 39, referer: https://dev2.ed-projects.nyu.edu/administrator/index.php?option=com_easydiscuss&view=settings&layout=default_integrations_easysocial&child=integrations

not sure what is causing this... I have latest version of joomla and easy_discuss

Thanks for the quick reply. I installed the version 4.0.4, and tried a few changes, it worked.

I need to actually be able to replicate this issue but I can't access the site Which Joomla / EasyDiscuss version do you have installed on your site?

problem fixed by switching to 3.4.x branch ... it seems master is tracking 3.5-dev

I have the same problem and i cannot go back an earlier Joomla version.

When can we expect a fix of this J!3.5 issue?

Hey Santiago,

I would suggest that you wait for EasyDiscuss 4.0 beta as we have already addressed all Joomla 3.5 related issues. It will be out pretty soon

I use the 3.5 final version and I have the same issue, please send us a quick fix: I cant wait for your final version and I would lose too much data if I go back to 3.4

and I have every reason to be worried since your "pretty soon" was posted almost two month ago. please tell me asap If you can get me a fix or if I need to ask for a refund, in that case I would lose everything since it was the $300 package... please answer asap, thanks.

It would be best if you can start a new thread and provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can better have a check and solve this quickly?

Hi,

Does this one got a solution? I got the same issue - make changes to the easydiscuss backend and click 'save' it went to a "HTTP error 500".

Can you try update your Easydiscuss to 4.0.4 latest version and see is it still hitting this issue?

If yes, can you start a new thread and provide us with your Joomla backenda and FTP access so we can beter have a look of this issue?
