Hi Guys,

I have 2 questions about the groups in easy social.

1. Why is it we can't invite attendee's to an event set up in the groups (at the time of creating the event, not having to go back into it and then invite)

2. when i do go back in and go to invite its missing a lot of users. i'm the admin and the creator of the site but i can't invite myself to an event because the search doesn't find me..... this applies to other users as well.

Thanks
wayne
Hi Wayne,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply. Please find my answers from your inquiries below.

1. Why is it we can't invite attendee's to an event set up in the groups (at the time of creating the event, not having to go back into it and then invite)

This is because easysocial can only determined the event type right after user finished creating an event on the site. Only after that user will be able to invite their friends to join the event. Unfortunately this behavior is something that we cannot change currently.

2. when i do go back in and go to invite its missing a lot of users. i'm the admin and the creator of the site but i can't invite myself to an event because the search doesn't find me..... this applies to other users as well.

I'm not really sure what do you mean by you cannot find the user from the backend. I just tried to invite a guest inside the event and all of the users are showing up correctly from my end, http://screencast.com/t/N4MuDF3EMia . Am I missing something here?

Hi Ezrul,

Yes, we need to do this from a user experience, as a user i've created an event in a ES group, now i want to invite certain users to this group but they are not showing on the list, so if i search for my colleague Shannon it says "No items found."

........i've just done some testing as i noticed that it was excluding the members of the group, it is only allowing me to invite people who are not part of the group.

Hi Wayne,

By default, the 'invite friends' in Event / Group will only search for your friends. If you would like to invite uses who are not your friend, then you need to enable the setting 'Allow Inviting Non Friends' from your EasySocial backend under Settings -> Groups -> General. For event, its locate at EasySocial backend under settings -> Events -> General.

Hope this help

Hi Sam,

I don't think you understood my reply, i am already friends with all the member within the group but i still can't find any of them through the invite friends. i have also change the setting you mention above that's not changed it.

***** update *******

i've just removed a friend from the group and i still can't find them on the search. i really don't understand why the invite friends will show some users but not all, i am friends with them all and it doesn't matter if they are in the group or not.

Hey Wayne,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Is the user shannon already a member of the group?
