1.3 Clarifications

I can see that the work for 1.3 has started. As We are trying to plan ahead, it would be to understand what is coming in the next release. Would you be so kind as to clarify the questions below?

1) Ability to specify a site image
- what is that exactly?

2) Events for EasySocial
- Will events be searchable through the search (advanced search that is)?
- Will there be a module for events (example: most popular event, recent events, etc.)?
- Will there be a way to allow only a certain profile to post events and if so, will there be a limitation of how many events they can post?

3) Tag custom field
- is that the same is 'Interests' (example: if I want to tag myself as interested in 'music' and as I start typing 'mus...', I get all the 'interests' created before which I can assign myself to?

4) Avatar upload on profile page to use system avatar
- what is that exactly?

5) I understood that Pages (the equivalent of Facebook's business pages) was coming in 1.3. I could not find it on the roadmap. Can you please clarify?

I can't really give you an exact answer to everything but I will try my best (I promise). Kindly please find the answers below:


1) Ability to specify a site image

We haven't started working on the global search in advanced search yet, but it will be search-able through Joomla's Smart Search of course. As for the modules, we haven't really thought about this yet, modules would only come in place later

As for the limitations, it would have almost identical access just like groups

Hm, this seem like a new one added by Jason, but I will need to check this with him.

In favor of the Events, we have decided to plug Events in first Pages would probably come in next. We are trying to ship fast rather than pro-longing the beta testing period.
