EasySocial's Translator License

EasySocial's Translator License

The Stack Ideas team worked days and night just to deliver EasySocial, one of the best social networking component for Joomla. Open-based, the project helped thousands of web admin to build a good social network site across the globe. EasySocial received a 4.98 out of 5 star rating on Joomla's Extension Directories; and we won't stop to provide the best component for our users.

One of the thing that we are truly unable to provide to our users is localization; none of the Stack Ideas's team members speaks more than 3 languages. Having said that, we've started the Translator's project. We provide free licenses in return for our users to help each other (and us!) by translating EasySocial into their preferred language.

The Issue

We were faced with an issue with the program. Though we welcome our translators with open arms, it is sad to say that there are some who abuses the system, they registered only to obtain the license without contributing anything. Due to this nature, we have no choice but to provide the license only after the translation hits a certain progress.

With this 'solution', a second issue arises; there are some who obtains the free license due to the hard work of others.

The Plan

b2ap3_thumbnail_solution.jpg We wanted to reward those who truly assist the community in providing the localization; hence this is what we will do. We will do a check wave on the languages and translator's contribution at a random time. Those who didn't contribute much to the translation will have their Translator License's revoke.

We truly hope that this will ensure the quality of the translation and the rewards goes to the right person. Feel free to pen down your thoughts and comments down below. Meanwhile, you can register with our Translator's project or obtain EasySocial by clicking on the buttons below.

Hi guys,

This nothing more but normal. Those who contribute get something in return. Those who stop contributing, stop getting something in return.

Have you guys already found a solution for multiple translations for the same language? As I remember you where working on finding a solution for this. Hopefully you guys have some good news about this.

I reccommend you to create a serious and recognized group of translators and to create a Category in the forum for each language. This would be a very interesting feature for pleople who wants to suggest any bug with the translation or an improvement with certain strings for each language. Hi Miguel, I am the official Spanish translator and I take very serious my job, therefore ES is completely translated to Spanish.

Hi, where can I have a look to your translation?

To check translations of EasySocial for any language you only have to go to "languages" at the back-end, install the desired language and check it at the front or back end. Anyway you can also access to the strings at Transifex.

Hi again. Yes, I know about back-end and all that. I was asking about an off-line consultation; where in Transifex is located the file?

Totally agree with your post and decisions. Doesn't Transifex track and display all translations made by each user? I would only give a license to a user if he has a certain minimum of contributions... and after checking the quality!
(PS: I wonder that you have put so much trust in humans )

Unfortunately the tracking system on Transifex is really bad and we have to perform manual checks on the translations However, do take note that within a week or so, we will perform a cleanup of users that does not offer any help on transifex.

I liked very much to know who now not contribute translations not received signature and will be deleted.
I am particularly translating the easysocial alone is is very time consuming to complete, with this new rule the translation will always remain updated.

Thanks!

It makes a lot of sense, you put into the system and contribute then you see the benefits as well!
