Hello,

I have tried normal and simple Urls none of them have the correct redirection when changing language. This not only happens on user profile but all pages.

Please check the urls, some strings are not translated and lead to 404
I also noticed if you choose a language then another, it is the previous (language) url that is triggered...
Hey there,

Currently we don't have an associations.php to assist with the switching of urls. I am not really sure what Falang is trying to do but with EasyBlog, we were able to perform the cross mapping of the items when you switch languages by having an associations.php but we do not have support for this in EasySocial yet currently.

WHAT !?? There was no issue with ES1.3...

What do I have to do now?
Revert back to 1.3 move to Jomsocial??
Please advise, ES 1.4 is totally pointless without language association...

We don't actually have language associations on 1.3 either. Is this something related to Falang? Does Falang has some plugin for EasySocial?

Hey Mark,

There are existing Falang plugins for EB but since EB5 they are not fully compulsory anymore. But it can be very useful for some configurations to translate categories without duplicating each category in every language... In EB5 nearly everything can be translated with Falang without duplicating the content.

There is no plugin for ES. I don't know what is the difference with 1.4 but it was running smoothly with 1.3 ...

For people living in countries where there is only one official language I can understand they don't see the point of having a true multilingual website. But it is not the case in my country Belgium (and others), we have 3 official languages.
NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) has its Headquarters in Belgium.
SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe) has its headquarters in Belgium
Brussels is not only the capital of Belgium but also the Capital of Europe.
Belgium is a melting pot of people coming from so many countries around the world to work for all these institutions, all speaking their native tongue....
Please put yourself in our shoes !!

My only solution to stick with you (because your products are good and I appreciate your constant investment in the forums) is to disable the language switcher on ES pages... not because I can live without it but because there is no instant solution!

Again please put yourself in our shoes for ALL Stackideas components updates... MULTILINGUAL !

Will you put this as an imperative in your ToDo's ? Please let me read a true and sincere YES !

Hey there,

Could you setup a site with 1.3 and with the same Falang setup so that I can check this out? I am quite puzzled as to why you said it works with 1.3

Hi Mark,

Sorry for this delayed reply...
This evening I asked Falang team to check if they can do anything to solve the issue, I will probably not receive an answer until tomorrow.

Please also have a look by yourself at this strange behavior...
If you click points under toolbar menu it is working fine in English AND also in French BUT not in any other language !

Maybe there's something for you to dig and understand the issues?

Thank you Arlex !!

It is partially working, we are in the right way
Some persisting problem like this example:
go to a profile page then change language (this should work, at least it is on my side, it was not ok before the router.php patch you provide in the previous message) then again change language and you get a 404 page.

There are still partial urls translations...
I received this answer from Faboba just a minute ago:

Hi,

It's seem it's a problem in the router.php of EasySocial and Falang cf http://stackideas.com/forums/sef-support-for-falang

it is related to easyblog but maybe you can find the similarities/differences to solve the issue completely...

Many thanks in advance...

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply,

Actually I am not familiar with Falang how it work, may i know is it need to create different for Easysocial dashboard menu item so that only it will work after set the associated menu item with other language? Perhaps you can take a look of my screenshot below.

Or Falang extension do not need to rely on Joomla associated menu?

Hi Arlex,
The advantage of Falang over the default Joomla translation system it that it gives to the user the possibility of translating the same content without having to duplicate the menu items and articles for each language. It is, however, possible to use both systems at the same time.
It is in fact possible to use both systems at the same time and you have a very very powerful multilingual CMS.

You do not create menus duplicates, you can delete all your duplicated menus.
You can directly enter the translation in the Falang component and do not forget to publish the translations.
Make sure you have the Falang plugins activated and also the Falang language switcher module published.

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Hm, sorry but I am actually a little lost here. What are the outstanding issues do you have with EasySocial and Falang?

Hi,

There are several issues remaining maybe they are all linked to the same problem?
Here are two examples...

Example A:
/en/community/dashboard/friends/invite
To Polish:
/pl/spolecznosc/pulpit/friends/invite (should be: /pl/spolecznosc/pulpit/znajomi/zapros)
Then to French:
/fr/communaute/tableau-de-bord/znajomi/invite (should be: /fr/communaute/tableau-de-bord/amis/inviter)

Example B:
/en/community/dashboard/profile/mark-lee
From English to french:
/fr/communaute/tableau-de-bord/profile/395 (should be: /fr/communaute/tableau-de-bord/profil/mark-lee)
Then from French to Polish:
/pl/spolecznosc/pulpit/profil/395 (should be: pl/spolecznosc/pulpit/profil/mark-lee)
Then from Polish to Italian:
404 page
/it/comunita/panello/profil/395 (should be: /it/comunita/panello/profilo/mark-lee)

I am adding again this answer I received from Faboba.
