What is the purpose of Category >> Author assignment?

I've been experimenting with the Author assignment in Categories. I haven't found that the assignment does anything.

I was hope to restrict a category to a particular blogger, so that a post from that blogger won't defualt to some other category.

I've tried various combinations of access rights and have not been able to detect that Author assignment has any effect.

What is it's purpose?

Hello Alan,

Our initial idea is to restrict categories to the author that created the category but later we found out that it would be quite cumbersome if several authors wanted to use the same category. Hence, right now the author of category isn't really used anywhere yet.

Thanks for the clarification.

If the author was optional and the default was any blogger that might work.

Hello Alan,

We do have plans to enhance it that way in the future but right now, I am not really sure if we have the time to fit this into EasyBlog 4. We'll see what we can do about this but no guarantees though
