l really look forward for the upcoming ES 2.0 but, based on the information regarding important changes under the hood, I wonder if the upgrade from 1.4 or the current version, will be even possible or too dificult? Thing is I haven't launched my site publicly just yet so perhaps it would be wise to wait a little more until ES 2.0 is ready?

It's definitely possible to upgrade from 1.4 to 2.0 but you need to embrace the change that there is a major overhaul of EasySocial's look and feel

What I noticed is that, people tend to stick to the same layout forever and not comfortable with major design changes. This is why 40 - 50% of websites that are still alive looks like geocities (no pun intended)

Anyhow, as long as:

1. You did not hack any codes
2. You are fine with design overhauls and move with technology
3. You love new and fun toys

I don't and can't provide an exact ETA of this yet as of now

What i would really like to see are some improvements to the calendar/event part of es. For example there should be a more flexible layout as there is in easyblog like change appearing of the cover image and it should be possible to add events and switch off the whole possibilty to join event. Some events like holidays are not to join, just for info. Overall we often need to add some files as download for an event, so if this would be possible in future…
