I just finished styling up a latest blogs module that fits inside the front page of a rocketheme (see ref Joomla Templates link below) site.
visit http://style-review.com and see the showcase scroller that comes with the template. Using the loadposition I am able to place the latestblogs module here. It did require some time with the template styles, and beware of editing them directly as they will get overwritten on upgrade. If you want to stop that happening then you must edit an override version of the css file. This is a file that resides here in this case [template_root_folder/html/com_easyblog/assets/css/module.css].
