Hi I'm currently waiting for 1.4 to be released solely based on the incorporation of videos to resubscribe to all my Stackideas products. Now I know you guys say with being subscribed isn't just about the updates but also about support, which i agree but with some of us having the video functionality is critical. I migrated over from JomSocial over 6 months ago banking on EasySocial having videos soon based on the roadmap. Well I say all that to ask why can't videos be released as a update to 1.3 ( which was suppose to be an added feature in 1.3 anyway) solving the problem for so many of your customers? I logically don't understand why the focus would be on EB5 (by the way I also use easyblog on my site) instead of ES 1.4 or videos specifically. As a customer that uses both extensions ( also easydiscuss ) I would think providing something to your customers that they currently don't have and desperately need, especially in a day and age where video visuals are EVERYTHING would be more pressing. So why not just roll out videos as an 1.3 update and get all the people waiting for it in 1.4 to be happy and resubscribe before 1.4 is released. I think a lot of your customers would greatly appreciate that. It's just a suggestion, Thx for your time.
I think the stacked team has more than the basics in mind for the upcoming videos release. In other words it's a big project rather than a quick fix. Pretty much all of us are eager for videos, even those of us who can survive without them. I don't even have EasyBlog (I have to spend what little I have very wisely) but choose to support the stacked team for being a great staff. Indeed things appear to be slowing down on the surface, however I have confidence that behind the scenes some surprises are being cooked up in the EB world. And once that's through, EasySocial will be the main focus where great changes will be made once again. Indeed it's taking some patience, but it will be worth your while. If you can't wait a few more months or so, consider looking into other video extensions to hold you over and before getting it to contact the stacked team to see if a video migration is possible. In this scenario you would probably choose one that is popular so that it increases your chances of a possible migration system.

Hi guys,

Thank you for the inquiry and opinion. Well, what Josh said is actually true (thanks Josh! ). The video function is not really a 'quick fix' or 'quick update'. Any software dev will know the pain of developing such features; from the upload size to all the crunchings and decodings.

I'm worried that there might be some misunderstanding; we do not neglect EasySocial 1.4 and build EasyBlog 5 only. By putting EasyBlog 5 in priority, what we meant was, we work more hours per week on EasyBlog 5 as oppose to EasySocial 1.4. For instance, nearly all of our developers are working during weekend to get EasyBlog 5 done (it's VERY complicated!), but we still work on EasySocial 1.4 and EasyBlog 5 during our weekdays.

The team will ensure that it's all worth the wait, and can't thank you all enough for all of the patience and support that you guys gave us (and still gives us!) throughout the year.

Oh man, I wish I can buy you all a cup of coffee!
