Also have the same issue, ffmpeg has been tested server side and working well. Why is there not a progress bar to show the upload progress on the story box and upload form in the videos section? My users are navigating away from the page because they believe nothing is happening.

The video is never encoded.

Hey Tamer,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here and my colleague is not around here.

I've checked in your backend Easysocial video settings, it seems like default FFMped path '/opt/local/bin/ffmpeg' is set from us, so you have to consult with your Webhosting provider to get the correct FFMped path then enter in backend > Easysocial > settings > video > save .

Keep us updated then when you get the correct FFMped path.

Hey Bright,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

Do you mean you trying to upload the video from your PC?

if yes, I've checked with your Easysocial video settings from backend, it seems like the ffmpeg path still using our default path, can you consult with your Webhosting provider is it got installed ffmped in your server? If yes, can you get the ffmped absolute path then enter in backend > Easysocial > settings > video > save and see how it goes?

Hey there,

Can you consult with your webhosting provider to temporary disable this `open_basedir` in your php server and see how it goes?

Warning: is_file(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/usr/bin/ffmpeg) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/ban:/usr/lib/php:/usr/php4/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/usr/local/php4/lib/php:/tmp) in /home/ban/public_html/libraries/joomla/filesystem/file.php on line 564

Ya, I noticed that above warning error is come back when I troubleshooting.

I am not sure is it related CDN yet, by the way, can you try 1 more time temporary disable `open_basedir` and make sure your php server is allow `passthru` function work on your site?

Hi, i read on another thread that i needed to have at least version 2.6 of ffmpeg. I had version 0.10.2 installed on my server. I have since upgraded to 2.8, unfortunately that did not solve the problem.

Disabling `open_basedir` causes some weird behavior on my live site so i am throwing up a development site you can trouble shoot on. I will let you know as soon as it's ready. Thanks for all you help.

Hey Piet,

If you having this video upload issue, can you start a new thread and provide us with your Joomla backend, FTP and SSH access so we can better have a check on this issue?

Before you provide us with your Site access, can you make sure you already setup FFmpeg in your server?
