Hello there,

I have two questions.

1. I managed to import successfully for all the threads and users to EDiscuss, but not the CMS articles in vBulletin. Is there any plans to update the migrator to import the CMS articles?

2. I did a successful migration from vBulletin, but my old forum is still running and so I need to import the latest threads and new users again, can I run the migrator just to migrate the latest threads and users? Should I just truncate the necessary tables if cannot? What will be the ideal solution?

Thank you.
Hello Cedric,

Kindly please find the response to your inquiries below:

I am really sorry but at this point of time, we do not have the ability to migrate normal cms articles in vbulletin over to EasyDiscuss because it actually wouldn't make sense to display these articles in a discussion wouldn't it?

Yes, you can go ahead and try migrating again because EasyDiscuss keeps a history of items that it has migrated so it wouldn't migrate it more than once.

Great. Thanks Mark!

Re the first question. i agree. Actually I would love to see the CMS articles to be imported into Joomla articles instead. I understand it's not within the support for ED to include that (as it's not a migration to ED per say) but is it something that you could help by improve that migrator since ED already has this awesome tool?

Secondly, ok thanks for informing that. Which table keeps the history of the imports? I just want to make sure I did not empty it!

Thank you.

Hello Cedric,

Thanks for the heads up regarding the article migration, we'll definitely consider this but perhaps maybe placing it in EasyBlog instead. As for the history table, it's stored in the table #__discuss_migrators

Thank you for your understanding Mark. People precede products as much as your products stand out themselves as well. Great work!

Hi Cedric, can I ask how tou migrated the VBulletin users? I appreciate this thread is a little old, however we have a VBulletin website and whilst the posts have come over OK, I cannot see a way to easily get the users migrated too.

Thanks for any reply.

Chris
