Dear support,

We have two users "latsos" and "latsos8". Once we click on the profile photo of the user in the below link
https://penaltara.com/blog/blogger/latsos

we are redirected to the profile of "latsos8" and not to the profile of "latsos".

Please help.

Regards,
It seems like this guy -> latsos8 user profile permalink used "latsos" , so it redirect to this guy user profile page (latsos8).

I already temporary renamed this user permalink to use 'latsos-8' , it should work fine now.

Dear Arlex,

Thank you for the prompt response. We had this issue in the past. It seems that latsos8 did not use any permalink during registratior because if we use the link
https://penaltara.com/latsos8
it exists as well - as created by the system automatically once the user does not select any permalink.

In the past, this was the case with two sample users we created without selecting any permalink. It seems that the system gets confused with similar permalinks and instead to navigate the user to
https://penaltara.com/latsos
it navigates the user to the most recent one
https://penaltara.com/latsos8

The issue is fixed right now.

Please let us know from where we can change the user's permalink in order not to disturb you with similar problems in the future.
Did you change the permalink from the path:
joomla backend>components>easysocial>users
and then searched for the user and updated the permalink through his registration details?
If yes, such change does not cause any system failure? from the moment that the user has already created blogs and more that are linked to the previous permalink?

Regards,

1. To update a user's permalink, yes that is the correct way of updating it by accessing the users section of EasySocial.

2. If you have updated the permalink of the user, the previous links generated on the blog would link to the latest one. If google indexes the old permalink, it will result in a 404.
