Hi,

Can I login on http://www.maindomain.com and automatically be logged in on blog.maindomain.com and social.maindomain.com?

I really appreciate your help

Best Regards,
Camilla.
Hello Camilla,

Sorry but I don't think that is possible with Joomla. If Joomla allows this, then it shouldn't be a problem

If I understand correctly, isn't the issue due to the fact that the cookies are reading the sub domain as a separate domain? I'm assuming those subdomains are using the same configuration.php to access the database so that the data is centralized.

Yes, that's correct Josh. a.site.com is not the same as site.com as they are treated as a "separate" site for cookies. You can't access cookies from a.site.com if you are on site.com and vice versa.

So then Joomla would need a way to treat cookies for all subdomains? Curious how other sites handle this? Or maybe they code the cookies specifically for those subdomains.

To be honest, I have never really tried other cms'es but I would feel that most of them would have similar issues?
