I have a site on Joomla 2.5
It has stacks of articles on it, and around 5000 registered users.
I want to upgrade to Joomla 3.0 once the Virtuemart component is stable.

The Users are Registered through the Community Builder.
The articles are mostly native Joomla stuff, but some date back to Azrul Blog. Azrul blogs are transfered, so no problem there.

I want my entire User base to be transfered to EasySocial, which seems to be an easy task.
I also want all articles to be transfered over to EasyBlog, which also seems to be easy.

I would like to know...
Images allocated to CB Profiles, do they follow over to the EasySocial? Or is there some magic button for this?
Do I start by installing EasySocial and EasyBlog onto the Joomla 2.5 version FIRST, and then upgrade?
Or do I create a Joomla 3.0 environment first, and then import from the Joomla 2.5 database?

Do you have a video showing the process of such migrations?
Hello Nils,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. The built in migrator in EasySocial, migrates the avatars for the users from Community Builder but if I recall correctly, Community Builder does not have any photo system in place so not really sure how to migrate photos over? I think it's okay for you to install EasySocial and EasyBlog into Joomla 2.5 and migrate them. After migrating, upgrade Joomla to the latest version

hehe, you answered inside an hour! That's pretty good on a Forums.

Anyway, there has always been a CB Profile Gallery ever since Joomla 1.0 version (I think it was originally called Nants Gallery or something).
But, I assume since it may have been outside of the core, perhaps it is not something you've seen... and hence, probably not in the migration over to EasySocial. (Just assuming here...).

Porting stuff from the J1.0 up to J1.5 was extremely tricky... and then up to J2.5 was easier, but still a nightmare.
The thought of dropping User Profiles images from the past x-years is just too heart breaking for me to actually go through with...

Thank you for your speedy reply.

Hello Nils,

Ah, I see. Thanks for the heads up on this! I didn't knew that CB has a gallery system but currently our migration process doesn't migrate these "old galleries" as we didn't even know it existed
