Hello,

I am running a site with Joomla version is 2.5.28. Easyblog is 3.9.16263
I would like to upgrade to Joomla latest version 3, and also to upgrade EasyBlog.

I made a clone of the website and I tried to upgrade everything myself but it seems like EasyBlog is not behaving as it should.

What is the best approach to upgrades for 2.5.x Joomla installations?

Kind regards,
Manos K
Hello Manos K,

Look like your EasyBlog frontpage is now working correctly

By the way, is your Joomla backend block IP address from certain country? We still not able to access to your Joomla backend. Below is our IP address ( on dynamic IPs )

175.143.129.17

If you've installed any firewall extension on your site, maybe you can whitelist the above IP address

What you could help me with is the fact that now the thumbnail images in the homepage easyblog section appear full width while they appeared as thumbnails in the old 2.5.x site. Any hints?

Regarding the above, we actually changed the behaviour on how the image is display to support responsive view Anyway, there is a setting for this image from your EasyBlog backend. Go to your EasyBlog backend under settings -> layout -> post cover -> post cover setting (listing) and you might want to adjust the setting to suit your requirement

Hope this help and have a nice day!

Hey Manos,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is actually a public day off for us here. Ideally, this is what you should do:

1. Upgrade your site to Joomla 3.
2. Install EasyBlog 5 on your new Joomla 3 site

Hello Mark and thanks for your reply.

Actually that was the line of action I took but this is what I end up with: http://sand.digimouse.eu/el/

Just a post from Easyblog instead of the homepage. You can see the original page here: http://www.digimouse.eu/el/

Hey Manos,

I suspect that page hitting some error, can I have your Joomla backend and FTP access http://sand.digimouse.eu/el/ so we can help you check on this?

Hi Manos,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply. It seems like I am not able to access your backend with the provided credentials as it will always redirected me back to your administrator page when I click login, http://sand.digimouse.eu/administrator/index.php .

Please advise.

Hello, I tried again with the credentials I sent and I login just fine.
Just in case, I entered the credentials again in the site details tab.

Thanks

Hi Ezrul,

how is this possible? I am just copying/pasteing the credentials and login OK.

How can we solve this? I have also given you FTP access. Would you need CPanel too?

Hey there,

I've tried login again in your Joomla backend but hitting the same redirection issue, perhaps you will know what redirection plugin you installed, then temporary disable it so that we can try login again and see how it goes?

By the way, I tried to enable error_reporting to maximum from your configuration.php file, it seems like you hitting this error :
Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required '/home/digimous/public_html/sand/plugins/content/jw_allvideosDSjw_allvideosDSincludesDShelper.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/digimous/public_html/sand/plugins/content/jw_allvideos/jw_allvideos.php on line 62

Can you temporary disable this content plugin "jw_allvideos" and see how it goes?

I disabled J!WHMCS Integrator and also JW AllVideos.

Site seems to be loading properly now, as soon as I disabled AllVideos. OK, some font and CSS issues are still there but generally it looks functional.
Can you try to login again?

Thanks!

Hey Ariex,

thanks for the reply. I am not sure what else needs to be done in order to access the backend. I have no redirect plugins enabled.

Anyway, the point is that the site is working as expected. The fonts that the template uses by default don't support greek language so I will have to change them to another font from Squirrel or Google fonts. It's all stuff I can take care of myself.

What you could help me with is the fact that now the thumbnail images in the homepage easyblog section appear full width while they appeared as thumbnails in the old 2.5.x site. Any hints?

Hello Sam,

if you were blocked by the firewall, you wouldn't be able to see anything at all. I need to investigate this further.

I will make all necessary adjustments to the Easyblog backend as you suggested.

thanks for your assistance!

You can now close this ticket.
