This is the second thread i open about this problem.
One is for easysocial and the second is with easyblog now.
The upgrade process block on step 3 during downloading installation files /extracting component files. It stays in status "Downloading" during long time and after give the status "Failed". See attachment. Sometimes it stays like this indefinitively.
The only solution i found is to make the upgrade manually...
Is it possible to fix this problem, i saw in the forum lot of people report problem with this new installer.

In fact the traditional upgrade via option doesn't work anymore, it's mandatory for me to make an installation via :
# upload the Full component from Joomla Installer
# choose the 2nd option (choose the tmp file) instead the server side
# continue and go step by step

I try to download full package from http://stackideas.com/dashboard then upload through in your Joomla installer, then it work fine.

Hi Arlex, i'm sorry but i really don't understand how you do...
I just tried to update easysocial to vers 1.4.3, downloaded the full package and it is the same problem.
I made a video to show you how i process.

Hey there,

I've checked with your video, if you upload full package installer, you have to tick `Install from directory` option before you click next from installation process.

It's very deseperate... So now via this solution it goes a little more but obtain another error, see attachment.
Downloaded 2 times the packages, same problem.

there is really something who doesn't work with this upgrade.
Today and since the upgrade i just see there aren't any registration made on the site.
By checking, i saw my registration link is in 404.
It was : https://www.motoraddict.be/fr/community/inscription
I created manually a hidden menu with inscription like url and now the registration system works on

But now we have problem with notification email who are all in 404 :

The link use sendgrid who worked before without problem.
Could you help please, i will stop to make upgrade to my live site and will need to build a test platform to avoid such situation, it was not needed before but now the product become really unstable i always have problem with upgrade (since 1.4.0 update) and each time i don't arrive to perform it but you yes... And i have seen i'm not the only one who have problem with upgrade step.

Hi Arlex, the problem was due by a incomplete install of the product.
The actual system of upgrade cause a lot of issue. I'm pretty sure the problem is due by a configuration of hosting. But i don't know witch. I have several server all with WHM cPanel with no different configuration (excepted one with cloudlinux), all works excepted this one, very strange.
