Hello again,
I'm in the final testing stage and I'm loving it so far. I created yet another new user, I noticed an event that was created within a group is displaying in the left column. The thing is
1) the group the event was created for is invite-only so for users that don't belong to that group, the event shouldn't show
2) the event itself was invite-only so again, it shouldn't show
Is there a way to prevent that? I don't want to hide that box in the dashboard view, I just want it to only display events the user I'm logged in with has permissions to view.

Also, additional related question - is there a way to configure events within groups to be open to the members of those groups? I didn't see any option to change this and the events automatically inherit the invite-only option from the group
hello Michael Guthrie,

Sorry for late reply to this,
As long as the event type is follow what type of group you made.
Example :
Open group :: Open Event
Invite-only group :: Invite-only for Event
Closed group :: closed Event

Hi Michael,

May I ask, do you use the latest version of EasySocial on your site? If not, can you please update it to the latest version. I cannot replicate this issue with our local.
By the way, it seems like you haven't activate our access yet.
Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet.

Please advise.

Hi Mohd,
Yes, I'm running the latest version of ES. Let me add the site access details again. The FTP should be correct in my previous post.
Best,
Michael

Hi Michael,

I am sorry for the delayed reply since weekend here.
I can't access to your FTP access. Its giving me:
Server said: Login authentication failed

Can you provide us with the correct access to your FTP so that we can further debug this issue on your site.
Please advise.

Hi Mohd,
This is the access data for the FTP that I've been supplying in various forum threads and it worked, please try it again.
Thanks,
Michael

Hello Michael Guthrie,

I'm really sorry that delayed of this reply,

I have tried to invite an user(username : Testing) join in this group (http://yourdomainname.com/community/groups/item/2-alumni)

Then this user create an invite type of event in this group.

After that I tried using another user account check on your Event/Group/Profile/Dashboard page, but i didn't see any upcoming event display on your page sidebar. Perhaps you provide us some screenshot and step by step how to reproduce this, so that we can check on this?

Please advise.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. That's strange, I registered a new account and didn't see the invite-only event, which is correct. Perhaps it was a matter of cache that has since been flushed. What prompted me to start this thread is that I asked a colleague to test it by registering a new account and then I noticed that once he logged in, he could see an invite-only event that he wasn't invited to and upon clicking its title he was taken to a page with an error message saying he didn't have permission to access that page.

There's still the matter of inheriting the invite-only characteristic from the group. Isn't it possible for an event to be open to group members of an invite-only group?

Thanks,
Michael

Hello Michael,

You're welcome.

>> If you and your colleague still can reproduce this, do refer back to us. (remember don't delete any event, because we need to reproduce this issues in your site as you mentioned)

There's still the matter of inheriting the invite-only characteristic from the group. Isn't it possible for an event to be open to group members of an invite-only group?

>> Unfortunately that was not possible. Because "invite-only" type of event is similar like private event. Unless event member invite group member to join this event.

Hi, yes I understand but there should be an option to choose whether an event is open or invite-only and there isn't one.
Best,
Michael
