Truncate blog content as introtext

Hi,
I'm trying to truncate my blog content but its not possible! I go:
1. easyblog/setting/layout,
2. mark Truncate blog content as introtext as "yes",
3.choose "50 word" as max length.
but it seems have no effect!
also my first language is not English! Please guide me, tanks.
