Hello Stackideas team,

I hope you are well. I upgraded to your awesome EB 5 latest version, and it has completely broken my blog page -- there's a huge block of white space below the blog posts listing, and then there's a chunk of white text again below the bottom of the page. It's clear that something's broken and I've tried adjusting all of the layout-related and pagination settings, nothing seems to fix the problem.

Unless I choose only 10 items in the pagination settings -- and then the front page works fine, but the second page breaks in the way I just described. I'd like to have 30 listed per page.

There's also a lot of code text in an error box at the top of the page. Something isn't linking to something else since the update -- again, I'm really sorry I can't give you more details, what I did manage to do though is play with all the settings and nothing will make it go away.

Could you please take a look at these two issues and let me know how to fix them?

I would appreciate any feedback whatsoever! Thanks again for your time and support.

Best,
Ben
Hi Ben,

Hope you're doing well there.

I already inspected your site, but not be able to access the backend page.

From my inspection, this post is bugging the layout view:

TEACHING POSITION IN SEOUL: LATE AUGUST START

As for now, I unpublished the post above and the layout works fine now.

Can you share us your backend access too so that we can inspect it further. Or else, please review the post above, i guess it has some unclosed </DIV> that messed out the layout.

Hope this help, please advice.

Hello, I've created a new user for you to use the backend with -- the login details are attached below under the 'site details' extra info tab. Let me know if you need more information. Thank you so much.

Hello Ikram -- I just disabled that post, I emailed the user to let him know. So please unpublish the post you mentioned if your testing is completeled successfully.

I noticed that the user who posted the 'teaching blogs' post chose 2 different categories for his post, 'uncateogrized' (selected as default) and 'teaching / education' -- do you think it is this that caused the crash/break?

Thank you.

Hi Ben,

I've checked the blog post and it seems like the user who posted the blog is copying the text directly from microsoft word editor as you can see from the paragraph tag here, http://screencast.com/t/ex0D1i86 . This seems to cause conflict when you use truncation type from your backend > easyblog > settings > layout > truncation to truncate by paragraph tag as easyblog are not able to find the correct paragraph tag correctly as you can see from my screenshot above. To fix this I have change the truncation settings to truncate by characters and it should work correctly now.

By the way, it is advisable for you and your user to not directly copy the text from microsoft word editor into easyblog editor as it will cause some conflict issue like the one you are facing now. Kindly post the text into another editor first like notepad before pasting it into your easyblog editor. Hope these help.

Fantastic, thank you so much for your thorough support.

I have just tried to test creating a new post, to make sure it fine to post from another editor that i use myself, I noticed that my editor's buttons (JCE) is completely different now I'm using it with EB 5 -- in the previous version, this editor's bar and interface looked fine, but now everything is out of line, in the wrong place -- see the screenshots. I think the new CSS is overriding my editor's CSS, but I don't know how to 'turn off' CSS from EB on the composer page so that it doesn't affect my editor's own CSS.

Where can I find these files?

Thank you.

I'm so sorry to keep bugging you, but I discovered one more thing I don't know how to fix. In the User Profile (system, not EasyBlog) page, the user can see their user details, user group (using a plugin to allow change of user group) and now there is a new section which appeared after I installed the new EB5. It is about blogs and subscriptions -- please see the screenshot. How can I turn this section off / hide it?

I would appreciate any ideas! Thank you. Ben.

Hey Ben,

Is this the latest version of JCE? The latest version of JCE should work fine out of the box with our new composer popup. I will need to forward this to our designer when the day starts tomorrow.

As for your other issue regarding the User Profile, I have removed the codes for you from /plugins/user/easyblogusers/easyblogusers.php . In the next release, there will be a settings for this. We might have overlooked this, sorry about that.

Hello Karim,

Yes, it's the latest update for JCE Editor. I attached a screenshot so you can see what happens to the editor buttons in the EB5 composer. I really hope you are able to find the cause of the CSS problems.

I currently have JCH optimize enabled, which might affect the CSS source information when you inspect the editor, etc. -- please feel free to turn off JCH optimize in the plugins if this helps you locate the problem.

Thank you again for all your support, it means a lot to me and my business partner.

Best,
Ben
