Hi,

Yesterday i was trying to create an template for easyblogposts.
In the beginning it worked but when i insert more than 3 columns, and then update the template, and re-opened the template, all the layout is gone.
i saw in an other forum post that maybe the component admin tools or akeeba backup causing some problems with the template saving.
Ca you help us with this issue or do i have to contact the admin tools component crew?

The problem with the template is solved after the update. Thanks a lot!

But we still have some issues with the youtube link.
If I want to put a youtube link in the block the video will not load. I constantly get: laoding embedded player. I made a new blog article. Something is not going well. Can you still rushed to see and solve this problem?

Hi Christian,

I just tried to update your current existing post template "PDF schooljournaal" by adding two more blocks as you can see from my attachment below and then re-opened again the template but it seems like everything is working correctly as it should be. Am I missing something here?

Hii Erzul,

Thank you for your quick response. Sometimes it works fine. But yesterday and today we have an issue with saving and opening a new template. This morning we made a new template. When we open the template for like 5-10 times then we lost our input in the template. Maybe you can try it by yourselve to make more blocks and save and close several times.

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply. I just tried to replicate the issue by opening and updating the template multiple times but everything is working fine from my end. Not really sure how to reproduce this issue.

Hi Ezrul,

I checked it again and my template is again empty after saving it.
i'll explain the steps that i have taken.
I added 5 columns among each other
first column: on the left an image and on the right 2 headings
Second column: on the left side an header with text. On the right side an image
third column: on the left side an YouTube video and on the right side a heading and some text
fourth column: on the left a heading and text and on the right side an image
fifth column: In this column i added an extra column So the widt is 3/12, 3/12 and 6/12. in the fist block an image, in the second block a heading and text and in the last block a heading and text.

i updated the template five times (after each column) and re-opened it after every created column. So far so good but after filling the fourth column and update it, then re-opened it, the template is empty again. This happens 3 times in a row for now. (check my attachment)

To becoming clear for what my issue is, i made a short screencapture video to show you whats going on.
I also took some steps that are mentioned at an another post.
- i unpublish and deinstalled admin tools
- i updated easyblog to the last version 5.0.28
- i tried to creatge my easyblog template again but it still removes my template

Could you please look at my video in the attachment.
Am i doing something wrong here or is it a little bug on easyblog (or maybe a third-party plugin) that causes this issue?

Dear mark, Ezrul,

To clearify my issue , i made an short screencapture video while i was creating the template. Before i tried it again i've took some steps that where mentioned in an onther post:
- I unpublish and deïnstall admin tools completely
- Joomla is up to date
- i updated easyblog to the last version 5.0.28
After that i tried it again, and my template is still empty after saving

Could you take a closer look at what i did?
Am i doing something wrong with the drag and drop system or is it an little bug in easyblog? Or perhaps a third-party plugin/component
that is causing this issue?

P.S. i uploaded the viedo to youtube, but i made it unlisted so other people can't search for this video ( i don't wanna bash easyblog cause i think it's awesome!)

Hi Christian,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as we are trying to figure out the caused to this issue.

I believe this is related with database issue where your database are not able to store more than 65000+ characters of json string in a single column hence some of the content are actually cut out and our decoder are not able to process the data properly. Can I have your phpMyAdmin access so we can confirm this issue on your site?

Just discovered another "same" problem (again in templates). We have created in EasyBlog also a template called Schooljournaal - pagina - in which we have placed some YouTube links. See frontend page: http://www.doelakkers.nl/schooljournaal. If we put a new youtube link in School Journal nr 6 than the Youtube block disappeared. Is this the same problem in the database?

I hope you can answer soon because our customer want to upload a Youtube link in this template.

Hey Jasper,

Regarding the youtube issue, this is fixed in 5.0.29. As for the issue with the column size, I have updated the column to be "longtext". Can you try creating the template again? You need to delete the old one because it has invalid json string

Hey Mark,

Sorry. The problem with Youtube link is also solved! Great!!! We published the youtube link in the private category. Then it does not work. So the problem is solved.

But, for the same blogpost: http://www.doelakkers.nl/schooljournaal we have a strange issue with responsive design. When you look at the desktop version of the blogpost it looks fine, but when I open this blogpost on my smartphone the order of the youtube filmpjes displayed strangely. You see Schooljournaal 1-2-3 and then 5-7-9 and then 4-6-8-10. In my opinion it must be - 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10 etc.

Can you look at this?

Hey Michael,

We will need to release 5.0.30 which addresses the column size issue but if you need, start a new thread on our site and provide us with the access to your site and phpmyadmin so that we can change the size of the column for you.

By the way, you will need to create a new template because the template data is already corrupted (if it is too huge)
