Hi,

I'd don't see an option in the BBcode editor for embedding 'Ted Talk' videos (e.g. the video at http://www.ted.com/talks/louie_schwartzberg_nature_beauty_gratitude ) in forum posts.

Is it possible to add this option to the BBcode editor...?

If not, where can I access/edit specific posts - via FTP? - in order to stick in Ted Talk videos in an iframe where needed?

TIA - Jeff.
Hello Jeff,

We are sorry but Easydiscuss doesn't support video from Ted.

Thanks Nick.

One solution would be for me to switch the editor used by Easy Discuss - to JCE or something - then insert the Ted Talk as an iframe. But I'd prefer not to do this - because the built-in BBcode editor is better for most users most of the time.

Would it be possible for me to access the user's post via ftp, and add-in the iframe manually? If so, where (ftp path) would I find the individual ED posts, in order to insert the iframes?

TIA - Jeff.

Hello Jeff,

I'm sorry. The post is get from the database and the php file is used to display it. Here means if you edit one PHP file from ftp, it will affect all posts regardless the post has the video or not. For instance, you can add anything in this file: ../components/com_easydiscuss/themes/simplistic/post.question.item.php. This file is where the question post displayed. But once you have modified this file, you will see the changes on every question post.

Dang! lol... when I started off on all this, I didn't realize that finding just the right editor was going to be such a difficult task.

Do you have any suggestion for editors I might want to take a look at?

Regardless, thanks kindly for clarifying my issue here.

Best regards,

Jeff.

Hello Jeff,

I would suggest to use JCE Editor since I've tested it with the Ted video and it is working. http://screencast.com/t/6zs2Th5i2Er .
