Selecting "category" from the Easy Blog tool bar or selecting the name of the category listed with each post sends me to the homepage and generates an error. See attached screen capture.

The super user should never get an error that suggests the super user can not view the resource.

Please advise a solution.

Hi Tkabe,

I've tried to replicate the issue by accessing category page for "Institute" but it seems like I can access it normally without any issue. I've also tried to access the category that are set from your menu items to be accessed for "registered" users only and it did redirect me to your login page. You can check my video link below:

hey TKABE,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

We are hard to tell you what issue causing this without access your site.

By the way, you can double check with your current active Easyblog category type menu item access from your backend and check with your Easyblog category is it allowed to access, take a look of my attached screenshot below.

Arlex,

I do not have the option shown on your screen shot to set permissions.
I checked further and found that I had not set a parent category. After selecting uncategorized (in the select parent drop down as a quick test) then I rechecked the EasyBlog page 'click on folder' in tool bar and click on 'category title' in post - it works correctly.

I also checked the Joomla categories manager and found "Institute" was not a Joomla category so I added it to see if this would have an impact in EasyBlog. Please confirm this statement: It appears - EasyBlog does not use Joomla Categories rather Easy Blog uses only the categories found in the Easy Blog configuration - is this correct? The addition of "Institute" in the Joomla Category Manager is the only other change I made.

As a result, my new question is....I wish to setup a parent category and do not wish to create sub-categories under uncategorized.

After this test, I switched the Institute category from a sub category of Uncategorized back to a parent "select a parent" from the drop down list. Now for a reason I can not explain, the category folder and category title both work properly.

I will put this on my list to monitor and report back the status.

See screen shot attached of my configuration.

Hey Tkabe,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Yes, that is correct. EasyBlog doesn't use Joomla categories but it is using it's own categories. I am not really sure what happened but should the error still persists, let us know

Update
It appears that the issue was as follows:
1. If a user does not log out and tries to navigate on a page for a registered user, the system generates an error rather than quickly forcing the user to the Easy Social login screen.

2. This was test and verified by setting the user login timeout short then after timeout - try to navigate.

3. I will create a short video of this behavior so you might research further.

Hey Todd,

Thanks for getting back to us on this. May I know what particular error are you getting here or perhaps if you could provide the exact error message that is thrown by the site?

hey TKABE,

I am sorry that delay of this reply,

Actually this error is coming from Joomla :

You are not authorised to view this resource.

Perhaps you can temporary upload your local site to live site, so we can better have a look this permission access issue?
