Good Day.

With the stable release of Helix Ultimate expected by the end of the month, can I ask what StackIdeas' policy is on updating the Helix 3 based templates released thus far....

I recall some blog comment chatter than may have suggested you'd be updating the Helix 3 templates to Helix Ultimate... is that the case, or will you just develop on Helix Utlimate going forwards and we'd need to buy new templates if we wanted Helix Ultimate powers?

Thanks!
Hey Andy,

To be honest, I don't have a definite answer right now as we haven't really got our hands on Helix Ultimate as it was only released to the public yesterday. From what I have heard and seen, it seems like it is not going to be backward compatible and it is really tricky to support something that isn't back ward compatible.

I could imagine the conflicts that would happen by having Vanilla (Helix Ultimate) while having another template (Helix3)

Thanks Mark. Understood. I won't progress the designs on my Vanilla template site too much whilst I 'watch this space' then regarding Helix Ultimate.

I'd fully understand re: 'not backwards compatible' and be happy to upgrade to a new StackIdeas masterpiece using Ultimate if that happens further down the line.

I think it is perfectly safe to work on Vanilla Are there any specific reasons to jump on the "Ultimate" wagon right now?

Oh yes, don't get me wrong. Vanilla is wonderful and working out just fine for me. I just mean I won't spend too much time 'perfecting' my individual layouts and cosmetic looks because I would hope to move to Helix Ultimate some time in 2018. I have plenty of other things to be keeping me busy

Just looks like lots of great new power they've crammed in - including Bootstrap 4 and the Mega Menu improvements to name a couple.

I just logged in today to run a search here and find out if there are any plans for a template using Helix Ultimate. I have been thinking about changing the framework for my web sites and slowing recreating them all. I am thinking seriously about changing to the Helix Ultimate Framework. But, I am also thinking that it would be great to use a template that you created for Helix Ultimate.

I really like the Vanilla template and would love something similar to that but designed using Helix Ultimate. :-)

There's actually too many changes in Helix Ultimate and our hands are still occupied with the development of PayPlans 4 and EasySocial 3

Mark,

I do believe that I just now discovered that your Charm template was developed in Helix Ultimate. So, if that is so, I just became very interested in the Charm template. I have a site now that uses a JoomlaBamboo template which has now been taken over by JoomlArt.

I am wanting to use one of your templates instead. But, I am also hoping to future proof myself as much as possible and that is where I believe Helix Ultimate will be a better choice than Helix 3.

I guess I should just purchase a copy of Charm and then make a copy of my existing site and play with it.

Hey Sean,

Yes, the current Charm template already updated to use Helix Ultimate Framework, you can give it a try for the Charm template on your development site.
