Hi there! The EasyDiscuss themes are getting quite old. Understandable because of the focus on EasySocial and Blogs. ( 1.3,4.0 ). Is there any chance we could get hold of the stackideas support forum theme? It is much nicer and user friendly, then the ones you guys are currently supplying It would make me and the majority of the EasyDicuss subscribers very happy!
Sam brings up a good point, we could definitely use some better themes for EasyDiscuss, and the on here on stackideas is excellent. I would also be grateful if we could see this template implemented into the next EasyDiscuss.

I have suggested this in the 'Voices' section.

Vote for it here: http://stackideas.com/voices/easydiscuss/item/311

Thanks for the heads up on this guys. The theme that is used on our forums is meant for "wide" looking templates. If your Joomla template has a very small / minimal width, it really wouldn't look nice. We can't be advising users to use a template that has a minimum width of 1024px can't we?

Mine is 1200px, so I'll have it!

I have a full width template. It should just be separate download with something saying "only use with templates with a minimum width of 1024px". The majority of templates are 1200px. I don't feel like the majority should miss out on something so excellent. It would be absolutely wonderful if you could implement this as soon as possible. . Thanks Mark!

Mark, Its quite obvious EasyDiscuss isn't evolving like EasySocial, EasyBlog and Komento. So as a premium EasyDiscuss Subscriber , I believe that giving us a updated theme is the least you can do, don't you think ?

Hello Sam,

Yeah, I guess the least that we could add is a theme but really, we should try evolving it too

Of course Easy Discuss is a very good component. But it works so much better on your forums. Please implement this asap

I think if you made your theme available, you will satisfy many of us and what's more, you have already done the work!

What do you say Mark?

Haha, it's really a mess if you see what we did in our source code. It's worst than spaghetti because we were just trying to get the new site up and running. If we are going to include this in EasyDiscuss, it has to be done properly

I feel you on that Mark! We have the same spaghetti code going with our newly implemented theme for EasyDiscuss at KyneticWeb(dot)com. The code is a mess and we were asked about it through a ticket from a client.. sort of the same response.. we'd really have to clean it up.

I do think the folks above bring up an interesting point. Offer options for wide and standard templates. Maybe not everyone uses 960 anymore.. but there are a number of templates out there that are limited to such. In general though, a great deal of the market has adapted to the wider frameworks.

Maybe designers could take up sourcing templates for you guys? I am not sure your stance on others creating themes for your EasyDiscuss though.. that's just food for thought.

Hello Jason,

Good point. We will see what we can do. Currently, we are tight with ES and EB5 development and we have to put everything on hold first.

Just to add to the discussion. I made the commitment to shift all of my sites over from JomSoical / Kunena to Stackideas. Tight integration between all of the different components is critical. EasySocial is great. EasyBlog is Great (can't wait for 5). But EasyDiscuss is the wicked step child. No "forum like" templates, no tapatalk support, inability to "mark all as read", and little movement in the roadmap has me thinking that I may jumped too soon. My forum traffic is down 30% since switching Kunena to EasyDiscuss due in part to poor mobile support. (the text and buttons are just too small to use on an iPhone / Android device). Tapatalk solves this.

Simply put, some of my sites live off of their forum. From a portfolio of solutions, this is likely your biggest challenge. I was tired of dealing with community support on Kunena. It served it's purpose and is what kept Joomla viable for many. But we need a stronger forum for Joomla that's tied into the rest of the core components. That is what EasyDiscuss needs to fill. You guys are soo close. A few templates to give it more of a forum feel and some mobility improvements should patch this puppy up until you can take it to the next level (like easyblog 5).

Thanks for letting me rant a bit...

Hello Ron,

Thanks for the input. Really appreciate it. We need to improve it first before we can add any template on it.
