Our website has bee in Lock Down Mode and after upgrading to v1.3.3, I've seen a lot of fields like Account Name, Username, Email privacies are now set to Everyone. In v1.2, I remember that these fields are all set to either My Friends or Only Me or maybe Registered Users but not Everyone.

I think the new Individual Privacy Settings for Fields does change all the fields that does not have Privacy Settings set before into Everyone.

Personally, I think that is kind of a security issue that all of a sudden my email address can now be seen by Everyone.

Is there a way to set a default Privacy for each fields in a Profile that applies to all Users? The tick box under Privacy doesn't seem to work, I set all Profile Fields to Only Me and tick the check box on top. I expect that It will apply Only Me Privacy to all the Profile Fields but unfortunately, when I logged in as a regular user. I still search someone's email address.

Need help here Mark please.

Thanks,

Jackson
Hi Jackson,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Is there a way to set a default Privacy for each fields in a Profile that applies to all Users?

Regarding the above, there is an issue saving profile default privacy from backend However, I've fixed the issue internally and I've applied the fix on your live site and now you should be able to save privacy without issues

Please verify again

The fix will be added into next release of EasySocial

Hope this help and have a nice day

Hi Sam,

I upgraded to v1.3.4 and yes, it worked however there is one Profile that I noticed that is not getting the Privacy setting.

No rush but if you have time to checkout my test user "froggydiak", if you look at the Profile fields it still have Everyone set on fields. So far I only seen it in this profile.

Thanks,

Jackson

Hi Jackson,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Regarding your above issue, I've checked the privacy data for that user and it seems like this user do not have the required privacy items store in #__social_privacy_map table. I've manually added the missing privacy data and now the privacy setting is working correct for this user

Please verify again.
Hope this help and have a nice day

Hi Sam,

Thanks for looking at it. Interesting! How did it happen that one User (so far) have a different setting than the rest? This test user has been in the system since v1.1 or something. Anyways, I hope that's the only user that has that issue.

Thanks again Sam,

Jackson
