Here are some issues I've been building up for a while:

1. Content App breaks page title (HTML title element) as seen here. When you click the article app, the site title goes away (but you will see it still say "Content"). Kunena and Articles appear to be the main two apps that break the site title.

2. I Cannot Move the Group Cover when in edit mode for the group page. I tested this 3 times.

3. Shouldn't the group Permalink be optional rather than required? Also the permalink url for groups is different from the profile, for example the id number shows in groups but not the profile.

4. It would be cool to see a reposition option added on the cover options. I know you can when viewing the edit appearance section which is nice, but many of us expect the option to appear where we go to add a new one. Here is where I would place it:

5. Allow Username Spaces, Joomla does this. So should ES.

6. Right now 10 images load in a album, each row loads 4 images. As a result not only are there two blank spaces that photos could be using, but it led me to assume there were no more photos even through there certainly was by clicking the "load more" button. So we need users to not be fooled into thinking there are not more images. Here's a screen shot showing this:

I see the admin can change the number which is great! But for the greater good of the rest of ES users the default should be 12 considering these two factors.

7. I cannot edit my age.

8. It would be great to show my age by years old rather than my birthday. This way people know my actual age rather than a date.

FTP/Admin Info is attached to this post.
I forgot to add that it would be nice if the admin could disable stream items being made for editing a group as well. Right now the admin can choose for a user to not have stream items made for editing a profile. The same principles should be applied to groups.

Fixed internally

2. I Cannot Move the Group Cover when in edit mode for the group page. I tested this 3 times.

Can't seem to reproduce this issue on your end

3. Shouldn't the group Permalink be optional rather than required? Also the permalink url for groups is different from the profile, for example the id number shows in groups but not the profile.

You can actually configure the behavior of custom fields of a group in the group category

4. It would be cool to see a reposition option added on the cover options. I know you can when viewing the edit appearance section which is nice, but many of us expect the option to appear where we go to add a new one. Here is where I would place it:

Nice idea, will try to see if we can add this in 1.3

5. Allow Username Spaces, Joomla does this. So should ES.

Hm, this should already be possible. Did you set a regex pattern to disallow "spaces"?

Perhaps the load more should be loaded in a "title" so users wouldn't get confused? Not too sure if that is a good idea.

7. I cannot edit my age.

The age is determined by your birthday. If you set a different birthday, your age would automatically change

8. It would be great to show my age by years old rather than my birthday. This way people know my actual age rather than a date.

We'll see what we can do about this

Thanks!

"2. I Cannot Move the Group Cover when in edit mode for the group page. I tested this 3 times. "

I tested this on both the latest version of FireFox and Google Chrome. So on that group page were you able to move the cover? I'm not talking about uploading the cover, that works fine. I'm talking about moving the cover after you "moved it the first time", come back to edit the page, and reposition the cover. You know, where it says " You can reposition the photo by clicking and dragging the photo".

You can actually configure the behavior of custom fields of a group in the group category

Thanks, seems to be working so far. I'm curious about the significance of a permalink for groups if it doesn't remove the id? It's great on the profile because it does remove the id which is nice.

Nice idea, will try to see if we can add this in 1.3

Thanks for your consideration.

"5. Allow Username Spaces, Joomla does this. So should ES."

Hm, this should already be possible. Did you set a regex pattern to disallow "spaces"?

I have it set to the default which is [A-Za-z0-9_]. (minus the dot at the end) I'm not very familiar with the actual syntax of regular expression. I did a small amount of it when working with SQL. So what would you recommend?

Perhaps the load more should be loaded in a "title" so users wouldn't get confused?

I played around with some code and came up with a result that looks good and is not distracting:

Even if it is obvious to the user, the blank space in my opinion is a little bit of an eye sore. Why not use up those two photo spots? I know 10 is a "pretty number", but visually it's not as good.

The age is determined by your birthday. If you set a different birthday, your age would automatically change

The problem is that I cannot set a different birthday. It won't let me change it, even as an admin on the frontend (haven't tested this on the backend). Users should be able to change their own birthday.

We'll see what we can do about this

Thanks.

Yes, I have tested this and it seems to work. Please see the group with the updated cover. That cover has been repositioned.

Try to disable this altogether and leave it as the default that is included with EasySocial and see if you are able to use spaces in username.

It looks like you have a custom css code that explicitly hides .ui classes. You need to check back on your css codes, http://screencast.com/t/ImFYQmhfI

That's the group page I been testing on the whole time. I cannot reposition the new cover you uploaded either. So when your in edit group mode, your able to move the cover image just fine? So for example, your able to move the bridge picture in this link? Normally I don't ask this, but do you mind proving to me that you can change the position of the bridge pic without uploading a new one. Move it as far as possible so that it looks different.

I tested again with a different browser, and even tried a different screen resolution. I also tested this with my brother's computer too. The tests I did today I did with the stacked account (just to make sure it wasn't an account issue).

I have it disabled with no luck (validator said it was an invalid username). Not quite sure what ES's default was for regexp. I don't recall changing it in the first place. I did some other tests which also didn't work. Also I checked the stackideas demo admin site to make sure my regexp was exactly the same as my site. Also note that this very same issue occurs on the stackideas demo site! So I think this is a issue that effects all installations of EasySocial.

Lol, that's my bad. Thanks for pointing this out. I plan on fixing this soon.

I should also note that I have a new issue, the permalink does not allow me to edit my profile unless I change it. So for example if I change the permalink to "Joshua" then it lets me proceed. After saving it allows me to change it back to "Josh". So obviously the permalink name isn't taken. I attached to this post the login details to my "Josh" account. Go to the edit profile area to see this issue. If I understand correctly, the issue either only happens on my account, or specific accounts. Because it's a test site, I give you my permission to edit any member that you please, including passwords and such. Let me know if you need me to set stuff up for you to make your job easier.

Hello Josh,

Ah, I am repositioning the group cover on the group's page rather than the edit group page. Yes, I am unable to reposition when I edit the group. I'll request Jason to check on this and fix accordingly for 1.2.8

As for the spaces in username, I just recalled that you can't use "spaces" anymore in Joomla 3.x, hence we have disallowed using spaces in the username.

Thanks Mark, glad we have the cover photo issue under review.

As for username spaces, they are indeed allowed in Joomla 3. I tested this just now (one on my test site, another test on a completely different host). So Mark, create a Joomla User on one of your test sites with a username space (in Joomla 3.2.3). It should work just fine.

Hm, okay you are right. I think the last time we tested this was either from 3.0 or 3.1 and they have disallowed spaces

I think it's safe to say that the future of Joomla 3 is going to allow Username spaces. After all, it would be silly to go back and forth again. Hope to see username spaces allowed in the future of ES.

So will user name spaces be allowed in the future of ES? I haven't tested Joomla 2.5 in a while, but if I recall right it too allows username spaces too.

Hope you don't mind me repeating myself, I figured it was easier than having you look through the lengthy post above:

Any news on this? There is no shame in saying your unsure about something. As a mountain climber I deal with a lot of unknowns.

Hello Josh,

The username with spaces will be added in 1.2.8 and for the permalink, we're still checking on this.

Right, Jason answered the first question in a different thread. The profile permalink issue is a strange mystery that only appears to affect my own profile.

Considering that this thread is dedicated to small things for ES 1.2, the maintenance execute button is missing it's icon. To see this issue to go:
yoursite/administrator/index.php?option=com_easysocial&view=maintenance

The execute button in the span uses this class: icon-
As a result it does not display an icon due to it not having a proper font icon class name.

Also note that IE9 has a red hue on hover when viewing album photos as seen here.

It looks like this:

Hi Josh,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

In ES 1.2.8 I still cannot reposition the group cover when in edit mode of the group.

Okay, it seems there is a bug in the group edit page where, if the cover field is in the first tab, then you will not be able to reposition the cover photo ;( Anyway, issue fixed internally and the fix will be added into next release of EasySocial.

Also note that IE9 has a red hue on hover when viewing album photos as seen here.

Em, does this issue happen only in IE9? However the newer version of IEs? I will ask my other colleague to check this issue again as I am not in window OS
I will get back to you regarding this one.

Thanks and have a nice day

Hello Josh Lewis,

Based on your issues, we have applied the CSS fixes in your file -> JoomlaFolder/components/com_easysocial/themes/wireframe/styles/albums/item/photo.item.less
line: 101
#gradient > .vertical(rgba(0,0,0,0), rgba(0,0,0,128));

Replace with
#gradient > .vertical(rgba(0,0,0,0), rgba(0,0,0,1));

Everything show fine now, please have a check.

The IE9 fix worked. Keep in mind, I certainly don't use that browser for personal use. But some people still do use it. Considering that it was an easy fix, I figured I'd report it.

Also thanks for looking into the groups cover issue.
