Hi I have now tried a few times to install latest version its a minor upgrade but it doesnt reflect as updated and still shows

Installed Version: 5.0.37
Latest Version: Please enter valid api key
Hello Calvin,

You will need to copy the API key and set it under Settings > System . Once you save the settings, you are good to go.

Hey Daniel,

You actually do not manually set your API key from backend is because it already included in the installer, what you need to do is download the launcher installer from your dashboard -> https://stackideas.com/dashboard then upload through your backend installer page.

If the issue still persists, perhaps you can start a new thread and provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can better have a check?

Since I only had one blog posting, I exported the configs, uninstalled easyblog, removed the tables and reinstalled. I never got prompted for the api key. I edited the sql file, replaced the API Key and imported. It is still telling me that it requires updating, but it tells me that it can't find the latest version details and but not an error about invalid API key.

It would be nice to be able to manually replace the API Key., Your documentation says that you can change it in the settings / system.

Hey Daniel,

To fix this you have to set your current domain name into your dashboard here -> https://stackideas.com/dashboard so that your site Easyblog can retrieve the latest info from our server.

By the way, actually these "requires enter API key" it doesn't cause any other issue on your site, just it unable to retrieve the latest info.

If I am going to have EasyBlog running on more than one domain (Joomla installation), do I need to purchase the developer version? Or does this only apply to support issues. It did not look like this was required from what i could read in the documentation..but if I am wrong please let me know.

On that that question... The domain currently defined in my dashboard is a child site to a primary site, both sites are running under one Joomla installation using virtual domains to separate them with individual menus and such. The sites are interrelated and the secondary domain needs to pull data from the primary site, which is why I am using virtual domains. At onetime they were both individual joomla installs, but I combined them for simplicity. Which site needs to go into the dashboard, or does it matter since they are both on the same IP address.

Hey Daniel,

You can actually install Easyblog in multiple domain site without any issue, the only issue is other domain sites unable to retrieve the Easyblog latest version info, it will not cause other issue.

However, if you purchase PRO license only entitles you to support for 1 domain only.

If those domain site which required more support from us, I would suggest you set that domain site to your dashboard https://stackideas.com/dashboard

And If you require support for additional domains, I would recommended you upgrade your PRO license to developer license so you can entities support for 5 domains site.

Hope this will help.

Thank you. I will keep that in mind, however typically if I need support its because something very unusual has happened. I am pretty good at figuring most things out. And if the only issue is the version information, I can keep an eye on that manually.

You're welcome Daniel.

As a gentle reminder, kindly start a new thread if you have any other issue in the future so it will be easier for us to manage your inquiry. I will lock and mark this thread as resolved.
