The reason that the showcase module is not showing up is because it was configured to only display "featured posts" as you can see here, http://screencast.com/t/OmrBxLjHbG . I have configured it to retrieve "Latest Posts" instead and it works fine now.

I already tried it on "latest posts", but this was probably just caching issue then.
I am going to be creating more modules like these, so if the problem recurrs I will let you know, but its most likely cache
