Hello I'm trying to Setup Facebook Auto Posting for Frontend Users or Bloggers; I read the howto but i cannot find in my backend settings the following setting;

I did not find any place on backend settings to put APP Id and secret key (that I already created)

As a matter of fact the howto syas "First you need to login into frontend of your site and then go to EasyBlog settings page"... where is in the frontend this setting page?

I did not find "Sign in with Facebook" button either in backend or frontend

What I would like to do is allowing users to autopost on their respective FBoom pages/profiles

Maybe I'm too stupid but I did not understand the howto... sorry!

I can give the admin access to the site and also the Fbook AppID and key on request

Thanks in advance
Hello,

Both App Id and Secret ID forms are in Backend>Easyblog>Autoposting: http://screencast.com/t/WJrVJuuKh . You have to click on Easyblog in Components dropdown to go to this page. You can provide us your backend, Facebook account and page you want to autopost to. So we can configure it for you.

Hello,

thanks for the quick reply :-) sorry for the stupid question... I got the right option now... I did not see it on the tutorial...

I can see now where to put all the ID/secret etc.

Two questions:

1) do I have to submit before the app for review? Or will I be able to use it without?
I tried to submit, but it asks for a lot of stuff: banners, privacy URL... o_O

2) when I'm asked to sign in with facebook do I have to use my own profile? The same profile I used to create the app, right? Will the users have to sign with Fbook as well? Or they just have to be logged in their profile/page?

Thanks...

Hello Rossella,

Here are the answers:

1) You don't have to submit the app for review.
2) Yes, you can use any profile you want to sign in. Other user can sign in with their Facebook account via Edit Profile page in frontend: http://screencast.com/t/YfPAJIrHMF

Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot...

what does it mean that the token will expire in 60 days?

Would it be possibile to have both centralized FB page automatic post and users FB autoposting?

Thanks for your quick assistance!

Hello,

Expire in 60 days means that Facebook has make it compulsory for you to renew the token every 60 days. You have to Revoke and Re-authenticate the Easyblog Facebook autoposting. It's only take a minute of your time. There is nothing to worry about. And for the second question, yes, you can make it centralised by turning on this option: http://screencast.com/t/O1jwsIRWK3 . Hope this helps.

Hello,

following your suggestions I managed to set with my admin account both my facebook profile autoposting and autoposting over a Fb page; I wrote a frontpage post and it both autoposted on my profle and on a FB page I am admin of. And that was OK.

Then I created via Joomla administration a new user (with editor permissions); I logged in on frontpage and I set (just for testing purpose) my friend's FB profile in user settings, giving the proper authorization to FB when I was asked for; then I wrote a test post, choosing on "quote" both centralized and profile publish, but I got this error after pressing "publish":

(#200) THE USER HASN'T AUTHORIZED THE APPLICATION TO PERFORM THIS ACTION

IT APPEARS THE PAGE YOU WERE LOOKING FOR DOESN'T EXIST. SORRY ABOUT THAT.

But I did confirm with my friend's FB user/passwd the permission... maybe something wrong with the FB app?

As a matter fo fact the post was autoposted only on the Facebook page (not with my friend's name, but as it was written by the page admin) but not on his FB profile.

Please try yourself to create a user and try to connect to your FB and the to write a post. I gave you the admin access.

Thanks

Hello,

no the error is the same:

(#200) THE USER HASN'T AUTHORIZED THE APPLICATION TO PERFORM THIS ACTION

IT APPEARS THE PAGE YOU WERE LOOKING FOR DOESN'T EXIST. SORRY ABOUT THAT.

That's what I did: I deleted the old test editor user; I created a new one. I linked his frontpage profile with his Fb profile, then I made a new entry post choosing both page and profile autopost, but I still get the error.

The autoposting worked only for the FB page.

I think that your test autoposting worked only because you did that as superuser... since the site is still offline maybe you entered on front page as administrator...?

Thanks for your help

Ok I'll give you the FB account and site login as well; I hope there will be no trouble with FBook since you are thousand miles away from here and Fbook will warn about possible account violation that will require secret question answer...

Anyway it's a dummy FB account and a dummy site account

Hello,

Facebook confirmed the app submission; I tried to test again the autopost, but I got the same error message "(#200) THE USER HASN'T AUTHORIZED THE APPLICATION TO PERFORM THIS ACTION".

Do you mind to try again to see if I made some mistake?

Thanks

PS the autopost worked on the Facebook page (as a matter of fact only in one page even if I set to publish on two different pages)

the app is not yet approved because a lot of complicated stuff was still missing... taglines, Instruction Guidelines, screenshots etc etc...

I provided them and I hope they will approve... I did not think all was so complicated I thought I could just follow the tutorial you provided.
