Hello

This setting does not seem to have any effect... When I send an Activation Reminder, Account Approval (or when rejecting application), if the user replies to the email sent, the recipient is not what it should be.

Regards

.Fixed in ES 1.4.9
Hi Altitudes,

I have access your backend and I can't replicate the issue you describe. Is there anything that I miss from this issue.

Please advice.

Best regards
Chris

I don't know what is the test you did. A good test would be:

- Register in frontend with the Visiteur Profile Type (admin approval required)
- In backend, reject or approve the account (in Users > Pending Approvals)
- The user will receive an email. If he replies to it, the recipient is NOT what is set in Settings > General > Email Transporter Behaviour > Reply to e-mail address

Hi Altitudes,

I would like to apologize for the misunderstanding. To begin with I have done a similar test previously which is,

Profile types->Visiteur->Registration-> Registration type->Require User Activation

Settings->General->Email Transporter Behaviour->Reply to email address->myownemail@email.com

User->User manager->Add new user->Register (which is testuser2)

After the test I receive this message in my Email and reply to the following Email address (please refer to the screenshot)

http://screen.stackideas.com/emailtransporterbehaviour_reply_001.png

This is the message that I receive using the reply email
http://screen.stackideas.com/email_transportation_behaviour_reply.png

I have follow your instructions and still getting the same results and can't replicate the issue.

After registering on the front end and approve the user at the backend I received this message
http://screen.stackideas.com/ETB_s1.png

Once received I reply to the following email
http://screen.stackideas.com/etb_s2.png

Then I received the following Email message
http://screen.stackideas.com/ETB_s3.png

Is there something I miss here please advice.

Best regards
Chris

In http://screen.stackideas.com/etb_s2.png, the email (reply) should be sent to the address which is set in Settings > General > Email Transporter Behaviour > Reply to e-mail address, no?

Hi Altitudes,

Yes, that is the default behavior. When I was replicating your issue I put my own e-mail as the reply to e-mail address in the Email Transporter Behaviour.

Best regards
Chris

Hi Altitudes,

The e-mail here http://screen.stackideas.com/etb_s2.png which is the Sender e-mail address is use to send notifications to users e.g.when a new user register on your site.

Where else the Reply to e-mail address is when user reply to the admin site. When the user reply to the notification e-mail e.g. notification@yoursite.com it will receive the message forward it to Reply to e-mail address e.g.reply@yoursite.com

Is this case when I put my e-mail in the Reply to e-mail address all reply by other users will go to my email instead of the Sender e-mail address.

Best regards
Chris

I am sorry but I could see no case where the "Reply to e-mail address" is used. I tried replying to notifications for new private message (conversation) or for a user not attending to an event I invited him to, and the recipient address is not the one set in "Reply to e-mail address".

Furthermore I think the "Reply to e-mail address" should be used for any email sent from the site to users, not only notifications. This includes account creation or approval emails, activation reminders etc.

Regards

Hello Altitudes,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Thanks for the heads up and your kind feedback on this issue. I've checked the easysocial mail system and it seems like most of it does not include ReplyTo function for the reply to feature. I will forward this issue to our developers and hopefully they can do something about it.

Hey Altitudes,

Firstly I do apologize for this as we must have missed this. Download the attached file and upload it into /administrator/components/com_easysocial/includes/mailer/

Hello

I tested this on ES 1.4.8 (rejecting a user account and checking "Notify user via email") and this is not working: in mail sent, Reply to email address is identical to From (sender) address, even through I set a different address in ES preferences.

It looks like Mark fix was not added to your repository, or maybe we have a regression here...
