We want to have 4 different user types on our site, each with their own levels of usability, from simplest to most powerful:
1) Visitor: Can only read in the forum
2) Signed-up: Can read and reply to everything, but any new topic post will be moderated before publishing
3) Moderator: Read, reply and post to everything - also manages the moderation of new post topics, and can delete or edit anything in the forum
4) Admin: Power to do everything on the forum including user management

Is EasyDiscuss flexible to allow for all these different user settings?
How can they be set up?
Hello Martin,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Please find the answers to your inquiries below:

1) Visitor: Can only read in the forum

Yep, this is achieve-able. You just need to exclude the public group in the category acl.

2) Signed-up: Can read and reply to everything, but any new topic post will be moderated before publishing

Unfortunately there's no way to selectively "moderate" from specific user groups currently.

3) Moderator: Read, reply and post to everything - also manages the moderation of new post topics, and can delete or edit anything in the forum

You can assign user groups in Joomla as moderators in the category ACL for each category in EasyDiscuss.

4) Admin: Power to do everything on the forum including user management

As long as the user is in the super administrator group, they will be allowed to do anything
