Search in custom fields content

Hi

Is there a way that 'Easysocial Search" will search into custom fields text content rather than just profile name match? I have purged and indexed content in Smart Search.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the suggestion on this one. Currently the toolbar search is utilising Joomla smart search thus only basic information of the user ( e.g. user's name and email ) was indexed and as the result, your user can only search based on these information.

To search based on the custom fields, the only way now is to use EasySocial advanced search

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

To be honest I'm not quite understand what you mean by searching text inside the custom field instead of profile types. Can you elaborate more on this if you don't mind? Please advise.

Hi

Basically that simple searches would look into any information on the profile. Usually my users would not search for username but rather values in drop downs or description fields.

Also it should be a "like" search so that eg the search phrase "therap" would hit any information on the profile containing this phrase.

Hello Peter,

Ah I see. Currently in order to search content inside the custom field you need to use advanced search in order to achieve that. It is not possible to include the search inside the simple search as you suggested.

Sorry for long delay. Thanks for update. I would really suggest it to be possible to search inside custom fields using the simple search. I have had many questions on why the simple search is not working as they expect.
