Hi!
I've installed ScribeFire because my client needs to be able to write in his blog offline and with the possibilty to add tags from a Mac.

I tried to configure it, but I fail.
The blog is not in the Home of the site, so in URL i enter the path to the blog. WHen I do so, it detectsType of Blog as 'MetaWebBlog', and in API URL it says 'http://domain.com/index.php?option=com_easyblog&controller=xmlrpc'.
Then it asks for Blog identification, which is by default 1, and credentials to access to the site, which I entered. But when I hit Send, it returns the following error:
'XML error: no element found at line 1, column 0'

Could you help me with this?
Hello Ariel Matias Bortz,

Sorry for late reply to this,
I have checked in your site, it seems like this plugin System - Language Filter causing the issues, because when i try to debugging in your site, I noticed got 2 warning message come from that plugin, I have help you set your error_reporting to NONE, and try configure again, everything seems work fine. Because I can publish a test blog post in your site. Please have a check.

hello Ariel Matias Bortz,

Sorry for late reply to this,
Hmm, can you try uninstalled scribefire apps from your browser and clear everything history/caches . Then install again and configure again.

If still can't able to work, can we have remote control in your site so that we can investigate on this? e.g Teamviewer , if you are available then keep us updated then which time you available?

Hi!
I just tried it in another browser which I don't use so often (Chrome) and got the same result: XML error: no element found at line 1, column 0.
I'll ask a friend of mine to try it out in Safari.
The problem is that it shouldn't return errors in my clients Mac.

I think I found something:
In API URL you say I should put http://paul-anwandter.com/index.php?option=com_easyblog&controller=xmlrpc, but if you go to that URL it shows the same error. Maybe that is what is wrong?

Please review the settings that I am using here, http://screen.stackideas.com/2014-10-22_1418.png . By the way, you shouldn't be accessing the XMLRPC with the browser because you are not supposed to view it in the browser.

That's exactly the settings I'm entering, and still getting the same error.

Could we do the remote access today? So we can solve this problem already. I sent you my skype user in the 'Optional Information:' field.

Hi Mark!
For some reason, it works now
But there's one problem: when ScribeFire loads the blogs, for some reason the option to add Tags ans choose the Category dissapear. Do you know why?

Hi Arlex!

I sent an email to the developer of MarsEdit and ScribeFire. The one from MarsEdit answered this:
Hi Ariel - I suspect the problem is in the mechanism that Joomly supports for connecting with clients like MarsEdit. Probably, Joomla is using an older version of the "API", which is the standard protocol that apps like MarsEdit use to communicate with with blogs. If it's using "MetaWeblog" then unfortunately Tags were not really a thing when that was developed, and thus are not handled by the interface.

Is there a way to avoid Metaweblog?

Hello Ariel,

As posted in one of my replies earlier, this will be possible in EasyBlog 5 as we have revamped the XMLRPC library quite a bit
