Hello,

is there a update function in Easyblog for Rss Feed import ??
How to update the rss in easyblog after the rssfeed has changed ??

best regards

Olli
Hello Oliver,

I've added a fix in your file: ../components/com_easyblog/cron.php. Please give it a try.

P/S: You can remove my email from the cronjob.

Hey Olli,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Not really sure if I understand you here. What do you mean by "How to update the rss in easyblog" ?

When a new item is added on a feed, EasyBlog will pick up these new items and import them into EasyBlog automatically provided that you have already setup the cronjob for rss feed.

Yes but the problem is that the old rss items are changing.
As we buy a car we have no pitures from the car, but we make rss to promote the car also without pictures
If the car is here we put the pictures in the old item of the rss.

But easyblog did no that we put pictures in the old rss

And what can i do if a old item rss changed there entry ??

Hey Oliver,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. For items that was already migrated, EasyBlog will not go and re-scan for changes. It wouldn't make any sense at all. What if the imported items was modified on your site and there was modifications on the external site? Which copy should it use?

Hello Oliver,

You can follow this documentation to setup a cron job: http://stackideas.com/docs/easyblog/administrators/cronjobs . If you face any problem configuring it, you can provide us your Backend, FTP and CPanel access.

Hello Olli,

You can use the same command as this: /bin/wget -O /dev/null "http://yoursite.com/index.php?option=com_easyblog&task=cron"; . But you need to consult your web hosting for the correct wget path. It might be different with this path: /bin/wget .

Hey Olli,

We can help but you need to check with your hosting provider with the following options:

1. Is wget allowed in the cronjob?
2. What is the absolute path to wget?

hey Oliver,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

Perhaps you can try put following command code in your cronjob configuration page and see how it goes? (remember change your site name when you copy following command code)

// put this
/bin/wget -O /dev/null "http://changeyoursitename.com/index.php?option=com_easyblog&task=cron"

// if above command can't , then try put this
curl "http://changeyoursitename.com/index.php?option=com_easyblog&task=cron"

If still can't, can you provide us with your Joomla backend and your cronjob configuration account access so we can better have a try?

Hello Olli,

May I know for what purpose you use this cronjob? If you are using to import feed, you might want to use this URL instead http://changeyoursitename.com/index.php?option=com_easyblog&task=cronfeed. The different between task=cron and task=cronfeed, is cronfeed used to import feed that you have set up in Feed Importer.

Looks like everything is configured correctly. Is there any chance you can change this to use my email: http://screencast.com/t/h2SIbqPb so that I can monitor the output. Please advise.

Hello Nick,

cool everything is working.
I have another question according to the Facebook export.
Is it possible to switch the picture off ??
Because import feed has no picture and the export deliver a empty pic.
Can we change that or switch it off ??
Picture is attached

If you have a different question, please start a new thread on our forums to avoid confusions since this thread is pretty long and it's difficult for moderators to keep track of your questions.
