Hi there,
I'm having two problems.
1. For some reason my RSS feed has suddenly stopped updating and now gives an error "500 - Unable to load renderer class"
http://whizzbangsblog.com/index.php/article-archive?format=feed&type=rss
I've also tried using the URL from the setup area and it also give a 500 error:
http://whizzbangsblog.com/index.php?option=com_easyblog&view=latest&format=feed&type=rss

2. You will notice that index.php is in the URL. I'm really wanting to remove that from ALL easyblog/site links and no matter what I do I end up getting an "page can't be found error". I have turned on/off URL Rewriting in Global Settings and have ensured that my version of Apache has mod-rewrite installed and functioning.

Thanks for your help.

Michael
All is good now!
Many thanks for your assistance.

Hi Michael,
It seems the backend credentials you provided does seem to work for me. Can you recheck this and let me know once I am able to access your backend? I need your backend access to investigate this issue further. Thanks.

Hi Michael,
Yes the login works. As for your issue, can you try downloading the attached fix file below and apply it into the following directory and see if this fixes your issue?
JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easyblog/includes/post/post.php

For your second issue, have you tried these steps?
1. At your cPanel, rename htaccess.txt in joomla folder to .htaccess.
2. Set Use URL rewriting option to Yes;
3. Set “Include Site Name in Page Titles” to “After”.
Let us know how it goes, thanks.

Hi there,
My apologies. Actually ,you can ignore the third step (Set “Include Site Name in Page Titles” to “After”) I do not think you need this step to remove index.php from the url. Just the first two steps will do.

Hi there,
I've uploaded the new post.php file and it's had no impact on the problem with the RSS feeds. I'm still getting an "Unable to load renderer class error.
http://whizzbangsblog.com/index.php?option=com_easyblog&view=latest&format=feed&type=rss

In addition, the proposed solution to the second problem still has not resolved the "file can not be found" error when I click on a easyblog link.

Hi Michael,
It seems your provided ftp access does not work. Can you check and re-update your ftp credentials so we can troubleshoot these issues further? Let us know once you have done so, thanks.

Hey Michael,

I already tried to use sftp, but I still unable to login in your FTP server.

Perhaps you can create another new FTP user account for us? And double check is it need to add our IP address into your white list in order to connect your FTP server?

hey there,

I was still unable to connect with your FTP server.

By the way, I have install Filemanager extension in your site, and applied some fix in this file JoomlaFolder\components\com_easyblog\views\latest\view.feed.php

And temporary set `Blog Content Taken From` to `Fulltext`, it should work fine now.

I also will lock this issue into our tracker will fix in next release version.

Not a problem with installing filemanager.

You should be able to use sftp now.....I forgot that i had a firewall rule in place for specific geo-regions.

How did it go with item 2 on the list?

hey Michael,

Do you mean `introtext` option? If yes, I already added this issue in our issue tracker, we will fix this in next release version.

No....I mean the following:

I have turned on/off URL Rewriting in Global Settings and have ensured that my version of Apache has mod-rewrite installed and functioning.

That was strange, by right if you have enable RewriteEngine On from the .htaccess file, it should work correctly.

By the way, I have no ideas why I still unable to connect with your FTP server. Can you try download my attached file and extract it, copy that .htaccess file into your Joomla root folder and see how it goes.

Note : You have to temporary do a backup for your original .htaccess file first before you replace the file.

I have added your .htaccess file, update the global configuration to use mod-rewrite etc. and I receive a 404 error every time I click on an easyblog banner.

BTW - you can try sftp again if you want.

Thanks for getting back to us , I already tried multiple times from my side, but this is I always hit that login error :

Status: Connecting to yourdomain.com...
Response: fzSftp started, protocol_version=5
Command: open "stackideas@yourdomain.com" 22
Error: Network error: Software caused connection abort
Error: Could not connect to server

By the way, may i know do you have Cpanel access? Like you can access File manager/ phpmyadmin and etc.

No - I do not have cPanel access.....the server is my own. It looks like your IP address is from an area that I block for SSH. I have now turned off all of my firewall rules.

I can access filemanager (eXtplorer is accessible via the joomla login) and also phpmyadmin (let me know if you would like the username/password).

Hey Michael,

I've re-test again,it seems like that was not Easyblog issue, even when you trying to access Joomla article page, it also hitting the same issue.

To replicate this :
1. Access this single Joomla article page -> http://whizzbangsblog.com/index.php/advertising
2. Enable `Use URL Rewriting` setting and access this URL without index.php http://whizzbangsblog.com/advertising

By the way, I would suggest you consult with your webhosting provider regarding this, it might be your server restricted that.
