Hi there,

Is it possible to set the robot meta tag (<meta name="robots" content="index, follow" />) to "noindex" to stop the components directory listings from being indexed by Google.

The following (and there are many) are all being indexed and flagged as duplicate content.

http://www.mysite.com/component/user/reset.html
http://www.mysite.com/component/user/login.html
http://www.mysite.com/component/content/article/71.html
http://www.mysite.com/component/content/article/72.html
http://www.mysite.com/component/content/article/73.html
etc, etc,

Regards

Not sure if I understand you here but these are actually not directory indexes. These are actually SEF URLs that links to the articles in Joomla and the user extension. I am not too sure what we can do about these as they are not generated by us.

Hi Mark,

Yeah, sorry about that, realised later on that they are Joomla generated URL's to Easyblog articles.

I have disallowed the directory in the robot.txt file to try and stop (well at least reduce) Google from indexing all this duplicate content generation. Its hurting my rankings badly.

Thanks again for your time.

Not a problem Wayne But why would you think that they are hurting your ranking badly There's a lot of other factors and not just URLs.

Hello Nathaniel Palmer,

Sorry for late reply to this,
Can you provide us with the following information:
1) Joomla backend access
2) FTP access
3) Screenshot regarding with your duplicate result
4) Or perhaps you add my email address arlex.wong@stackideas.com in your Google Webmaster tool so that we can better have a look the duplicate content

I would personally prefer that you start a new thread instead.
By the way, It looks like your account isn't tied up with any subscriptions on our site. Is there any mistake on our end? Would it be possible for you to contact us at https://crm.stackideas.com and provide us with the order reference and your username so that we can fix this up for you? Please advise.
