Hi,

My version;
Joomla 3.3.6
EasyBlog 3.9.18613
EasySocial v1.3.6
Template default: Protostar

***All fresh installation with default setting.

Layout using remote publishing is different from using normal post.

At frontpage:
'author's name' and 'category' not display.

At single blog:
Hits, comments, subcription, prin and bookmark is position below article. In normal when not using remote, it's on top.

Am I missing something obvious here? Thanks for any help.

Hi Arlex, thanks for your reply.

It seems like the latest version of Joomla changed something, I have help you fix it that error message.

Which error message? I think u mean the error message i get when open this page , http://almusthafa.net/index.php?option=com_easyblog&task=cron .
The message appear when I open this page (http://almusthafa.net/index.php?option=com_easyblog&task=cron) after I send email to post a blog.

This is what happen when I post blog via email.
1. Compose an email and send it to email assigned for remote publishing.
2. I checked email, I received it normally.
3. I checked at Easyblog backend for blog entries, no new blog post receive. Still no new blog post after waiting for more than 20 minutes.
4. So I go to this page (http://almusthafa.net/index.php?option=com_easyblog&task=cron), got some message, 'Email batch proses finished', and some error message.
5. I checked at Easyblog backend again for blog entries, and new blog post received and it goes to frontpage as expected.
6. I go to this page again, just to see what happen (http://almusthafa.net/index.php?option=com_easyblog&task=cron), no more error message after few times refresh it.

May i know which file show out this "index.php?option=com_easyblog&task=cron", so we can take a look with this?

I got a lot of this files in my server, almost hundred of it. The file is not in Joomla folder. See attached file name 4.png and look at where my 'public_html' located.

Hi Arlex,

Everything looks good now. Thanks for a fix.

Now only cron job is not working. It's fetch all email only after I open this page: http://almusthafa.net/index.php?option=com_easyblog&task=cron

Here's the command;
/bin/wget -O /dev/null "http://almusthafa.net/index.php?option=com_easyblog&task=cron";

Does it have to do with time zone setting? In webmail (email use for Remote Publishing), time zone is +8, in Joomla also +8, but default cPanel, I think it's GMT+0.

Hello Syabab,

Hmm it seems like the site details there do not have any Cpanel URL and login credential.

Example : If you server is using hostgator, then the URL should be https://yourdomainname.com/cpanel or https://yourdomainname.com/11.22.11.22?admin

by the way, you provided that FTP access is not working.

hello Syabab,

Sorry for late reply to this,
Actually now the issues is you haven't setup cronjob in your site, so that you need to do manually run this URL http://almusthafa.net/index.php?option=com_easyblog&task=cron, then the email notification only can sent out to your user.

Perhaps you consult with your webhosting provider how to access in your server and setup cronjob? Because you provided us with your FTP access is not able to configure the cronjob. Hope you understand.

I have help you modified this cron command from your cronjob :
/usr/bin/wget -O /dev/null "http://almusthafa.net/index.php?option=com_easyblog&task=cron"

because different site have their own wget path file location, it seems like everything is working fine now, can you give it a try submit blog post via email and wait for 10 or 20 minute and see how it goes? because I set cronjob process in 10 minute per time.

Hi Arlex,

I forgot about the previous issue.

All post via email still goes to 'Short Updates' instead of 'Standard Post'.

And, in EasySocial stream, for 'Short Updates', it shows an empty box. No intro, just blank. (see attached files)

Thanks for any help.

Hello Syabab,

I'm really sorry that delayed of this reply,
Please find your answer in your queries below :
All post via email still goes to 'Short Updates' instead of 'Standard Post'.

>> Yes, this is default behaviour, if you publish blog post from the normal creation page, then it will go to "standard post", if you publish blog post from "quick update" and "email" then it will show in "Short Updates".

And, in EasySocial stream, for 'Short Updates', it shows an empty box. No intro, just blank. (see attached files)

>> Thanks for reporting this, that was a small bug in our end, I have temporary applied the fix in your site, you should see the content now.

I think my cron job is stop working now... you have set the cron job for 10 minutes but I think my web hosting automatically change it to 15 minutes by default...
Any idea why is it stop working?

>> I have debugging in your site, it seems like you have enable this option Map email to the user's email from your Easyblog remote publishing configuration page, I have help you disabled it, it should be work fine again. Because your mailbox unable to detect the user as my email address, so the blog post unable to fetch in your Easyblog.

Mailbox: Unable to detect the user based on the email arlex.wong@stackideas.com
sequence:28 0 blog posts fetched from mailbox: bh-17.webhostbox.net.

Hi Arlex,

If it's disabled then how can I use 'Map email to the user's email'? I intented to make bloggers using it since most of them is using smart phone to post it. Most of them don't have a pc or laptop.

Any idea how?

Hello Syabab,

Actually that feature is for map back for your registered user from your site so that all registered user post via email then the blog post will publish in your site.

If my email address is not register from your site then it will get this kind of warning
Mailbox: Unable to detect the user based on the email xxx@gmail.com
sequence:1 Mailbox: Unable to detect the user based on the email xxxx@gmail.com
sequence:2 Mailbox: Unable to detect the user based on the email xxx@gmail.com
sequence:3 0 blog posts fetched from mailbox:xxxx.com.

Hi Arlex,

You mean if "Map email to the user's email" set to "Yes", if email does not belong to a registered user, email will not be fetched...am I correct?

If that so, it's exactly what I need because no spam email will go to blog entries. Plus I don't want all post via email goes to one default user, it'll display a default user at front page instead of the real user who posted it. Also the real user who post it will not have stream of his blog entries in EasySocial.

Actually I did test to post from 2 different email, one is from registered user and one is not registered. And 'Map email to the user's email' is set to 'Yes'.

Both email goes to Inbox as expected. And as expected, email from non-registered user is not fetched a to blog entries.

The weird thing is, email from registered user is not being fetch as well. That is why I think my cron job still have a problem.

Please help on this...thanks.

Hi Arlex,

Few hours ago I did another test, with Map email to the user's email set to Yes.

I send email from 3 different sender. 1 email from registered user use for the mailbox remote publishing, 1 email from registered user and 1 email from non-registered user.

All 3 emails go to Inbox normally.

I wait for sometimes and it seems to be working well!!! Both mail from registered user go to blog entries and email from non-registered remained (as UNREAD) in inbox.

I don't know why it's working today but not yesterday. The only thing I did today was at cron job command, I click 'Edit' and then click 'Edit Line' to save it, without changing anything at all.

I think now I need to make more testing just to make sure that everything's working fine...

Hi,

I think i have found another issue here.

Posting via email from registered user did not truncate the post at EasySocial stream.
Stream truncation works as normal only if user post their blog normally from front end.

Any idea how to fix this?

Thanks...
