Hi, would someone tell me how I can create a read-only post. When i create a post, then someone else can come onto my site by clicking on the yellow "dot" on my post and has the option to edit, delete, unpublished the post. Please advise. Gary
hey Gary,

I am sorry that delay of this reply,

Do you mean the guest user? If yes, you can try disable those user permission from backend > Easyblog > ACL > public/guest user group > check my attached screenshot > disable all option under `managing` tab and see how it goes?

If the setting still available for guest user group, can you provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you check on this?

Hi Arlex thanks for the reply. I have done what you have suggested and yes the icon for creating a new post is removed from the toolbar. However my problem is the individual can still get in by clicking on the "yellow comment' cloud button with a pencil in it as see on the right of the attached screen. How do I restrict this facility?

Regards
Gary

Hi Arlex not quite sure.

My site is blueviewconsulting.co.za and user name **** and password ********

What I am trying to do is to have say 3 post when entering onto the blog page. These people should be able to leave comments but should not be able to access to change/delete etc.

Using ACL I managed to get the PENCIL off the toolbar but they can still access the post via the yellow pencil button on the post itself. The test user i have setup is ******** and password *******

Hope you can assist.

Hey Gary,

I can able to access in your Joomla backend.

After checked a while, that was strange is because all the acl settings is set correctly, by the way, can i have your FTP access so we can help you check on this?

Note : submit your login credential in `site detail` tab because only our support team can view.

Hi Arlex please see FTP access.

I appreciate the support.

As a reminder what I am trying to do is to have a read only access post. No one in the "front-end" should be able to modify it, although they should be able to leave a comment.

Kind regards
Gary

Hi Gary,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Regarding your issue, I've checked your site. Your EasyBlog ACL is configured correctly. However, your Joomla's group permissions was configured wrongly. You are giving super admin rights to all your Joomla groups. Please see:

http://screencast.com/t/FuEuX9bEKd6N
http://screencast.com/t/pVXIZzidz

Now, every users from your site are treated as site admin and site admin has the ability to manage your blog post irregardless the ACL from EasyBlog. To fix your issue, you will need to fix your permission from your Joomla groups.

Hope this help and have a nice day!
Sam
