Two queries on Quick Posts for Bloggers....

Pictures do not seem to pull through if uploaded via the Quick Post
Blogs still appear on the Frontpage despite turning off the default post on Frontpage option.

Hello RussianBlue,

Can you please whitelist the ip address "60.53.83.171" and provide us with the FTP access? By the way, when I tried to access http://oneifds.com/ , it seems like it's only a blank page.

Forgot to mention, this hosting is with Armor, they are very security conscious and you need a VPN account to get through their firewalls to use FTP.

Hi Andrew,
This is our office IP. Can you whitelist this for us so we can check on your issue? 175.139.129.95
By the way, to double confirm, for pictures what image extensions did you used to upload the photo in the quick post photos section?
Let us know, thanks.

Hi Raymond,

The second IP has also been added. I have asked my client what format they used, awaiting their answer.

Hey Andrew,
Thanks for the update. I have tested quick post on your site and it seems I am able to upload a photo and post it just fine. Am I missing something here? Perhaps you can also ask your client to list the steps I can take to replicate the issue that they faced, and include the image that he/she was trying to upload.

For the second issue, I can replicate this in my local so I`ll logged this issue in our tracker so our developers can look into this.
Let me know once you have an update from your client, thanks.

Just heard back from the client, it seems that the image upload was working, after all, he was just getting confused with the various tab types (video, image, text etc.). Now he has a question stemming from that... Is it possible to turn off some of the tabs, he doesn't want to give users the option of posting a video for example.

The quick posts are still appearing on the front page even though he's set them not to.

Hey RussianBlue,
Thanks for the update. Glad to know there wasn't any issue with the image upload.
As for hiding some of the post type tabs in the quick post, unfortunately there isn't any setting we can use to achieve it. If your client really wants those tabs disabled, you can do a template override on the core file.
These are the steps to perform a template override:
1. Copy this file: JoomlaFolder\components\com_easyblog\themes\wireframe\dashboard\quickpost\default.php

2. Create the directory mentioned here and paste the file inside: JoomlaFolder\templates\yourCurrentTemplate\html\com_easyblog\dashboard\quickpost\default.php

3. Modify the code in the file that you have just pasted. For example, if your client wants the video tab removed, you can just delete this block of code which generates the video tab.
<li <?php echo $active=='video' ? ' class="active"' : ''; ?>>
<a href="#video" data-bp-toggle="tab">
<i class="fa fa-video-camera"></i> <?php echo JText::_('COM_EASYBLOG_DASHBOARD_TOOLBAR_QUICK_POST_VIDEO'); ?>
</a>
</li>
For the quick post default front page issue, I will log this in our issue tracker so the devs can look into it. Hope this helps.
