1) Is ES search used for only searching ES members or Can ES search box also be used to search Joomla articles, K2 articles etc too? I am wondering if I can replace com_search completely with ES search or not.

2) Secondly, I noticed that ES badge is awarded based on the number of searches done by the user. Does it only apply for searches done using EasySocial Search? If I disable ES search and only use Joomla's com_search or some other extension that uses joomla's com_search, does the badges and points still work for them?
Hello Neel,

Please find the response to your inquiries below:

There's 2 types of search in EasySocial. The normal search (on the toolbar and view=search) will search items that are indexed by Smart Search. Advanced Search on the other hand only works with members.

Yes, they are awarded based on the searches done by the user in EasySocial Unfortunately it's not possible to award points / badges when they search with Joomla search because there is no way to intercept this when they search using Joomla's search.

aha... makes sense. I havent enabled smart search since I read somewhere that it is not advisable to use smart search on sites that has too many contents due to performance issue.

Hello Neel,

If you have lots of contents, Smart Search is good since it indexes the items before hand.
